Nickelodeon is rebooting the turtles yet again and leaning torwards the turtles tapping into mystic ninja powers. Not just that but Raph is now the leader and Leo is being changed into a doofus apparently.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles follows Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello and Michelangelo on all-new adventures as they seek to unlock the mystical secrets of New York City. From the tallest skyscraper to the dankest sewer drain, the Turtles will encounter absurd new mutants and battle bizarre creatures all while enjoying their favorite slice of pizza. Tapping into mystic, ninja powers they never knew existed, the four brothers must learn to work together and navigate the perils of the modern age and hidden realms in order to fulfill their destiny to become a team of heroes.

Raphael, as the oldest and physically biggest brother, he is now the leader and his enthusiasm and bravado puts him front and center for most of their bizarre adventures; Leonardo, the self-professed coolest brother possesses irreverent charm and a rebel heart; Donatello, an unflappable mechanical genius and tech wizard whose ninja skills are second only to his coding; Michelangelo, the youngest brother, an artist and awesome skateboarder with a wild colorful, and imaginative personality; and the Turtles most trusted ally, April ONeil, a street savvy native New Yorker who is always ready to join in the fun.

is the 2003 series the one nick originally did? I only watched a few episodes but it seemed really solid with good writing. Not sure what season the episodes were from as they were random

I think the 203 series first aired on Fox Kids, at least that's what I watched it on, the one Nick did was in 2012 I think.

The new TMNT animated series scheduled to kick off in 2018 on Nickelodeon will be called Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and this one is going back to 2D animation, something that seems to be coming back into fashion with Disney's upcoming DuckTales reboot (which looks great) and the impending return of Samurai Jack on Adult Swim. In fact, one of the executive producers on this show is Andy Suriano who has worked on character design on Samurai Jack, and he's working with Ant Ward, the supervising producer who has helped make the most recent series a critical success.

I hate when they reboot a show with in like 2 years of the last one ending. Just don't end the last show if you are going to reboot it so soon.

What the fuck? Why are they flipping the names around? You can't just switch Batman and Robin's names because you got the wild hair up your ass that "Robin" was a good name for a leader.

Hopefully, this thing gets canceled mid-season or, better yet, I hope they're lying through their teeth in hopes that the controversy will give them free marketing. "The Ninja Turtles are aliens."

Huh, apparently 2012 ended with an old man logan/mad max type of story. What a shitty final episode no wonder they pretended that 80's crossover was the big finale
