Yes

7-9 are pretty meh with some bits of good, and 10 is the lowest point in the series. 11-14 are great again and arguably some of the best (if not THE best) books in the series.

honestly just read through perrin's section of 10 (which is at the beginning) and then read chapter summaries of the rest

somebody really needs to edit 7-9 down into one book. Editing down the Ebou Dar sections would probably be enough.

Ebou Dar is okay. Faile getting captured by the Shaido is the real plot tumor. It lasted sooo long and didn't feel important in the slightest.

I'm a fan of Book 10 simply because Mat had some really fun misadventures, but yeah it didn't move the overall plot forward one inch. Book 11+ are all very good.

11 is a huge return to form for the series, and then 12-14 are just plain incredible. If you can't get through 10, just read some summaries and move on. It's not that important.

A Memory of Light is currently my favorite book period. Amazing how much it delivered. Made me cry a few times. Incredible book all around.

This, so hard. Perrin was originally my favorite character, and when we hit that stretch from 7-12, I just didn't want any more of his scenes. Except that time when that guy gets beetled to death and Perrin doesn't give a fuck; that was pretty badass.

Faile getting captured does lead to her growing as a character some (I did not like her at all in books 3-8, but she grew on me after) but yeah that arc takes waaay too long.

What's weird is that the book that resolves it (11) actually devotes far less time to it than most of the previous books, which kinda highlights how much of that time was wasted.
