The original series, or at least the four seasons which aired in North America would be considered a typical American cartoon. However the later Japanese exclusive ongoing continuity starting with Headmasters would be anime. Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, the original Robots in Disguise, and the Unicron Trilogy series Armada, Energon and Cybertron are anime. Beast Wars and Beast Machines are Canadian.
