I don;t like that game grumps is going to end their Monster Hunter run tomorrow when it's only been like 6 episodes. Arin claims he is obsesed with Monster Hunter and it's his favorite series so I have no idea why they put a limit on the series. why can't he play it as long as he spent on Dark Souls 3? I think he did nearly everything in Dark Souls 3 that you can do except for the 2nd expansion. It never makes sense why some games they play for like a year and others they only do for like a week.

I can't seem to get into most games nowadays because the opening cut scenes and tutorial/hand holding just goes on for fucking ever.. like several hours in some cases.

I forgot what review said it but it was something along the lines of that most games that come out now try and make the player feel as powerful as possible with as little button presses, while Monster Hunter is the complete opposite. You end up just seeming like a dunce if you button mash.

i played the beta and that was kind of the impression i got too. crap all over the screen and it felt super complicated to do something as simple as swing a weapon. meanwhile some little anime chick was giving me nonstop instructions

The first few hours of a game are critically important. If you cant hook a player during those hours, it doesnt matter if the rest of your game is 10/10 GOAT material.
