Not on the Internet. I got scammed by a mechanic once though.

I had a check engine light, so I took it in. Got the car back and the steering wheel was crooked, oil stains all over the interior, and still had a check engine light. $600. Took it back. They fixed the steering wheel, not the oil stains, still had check engine light. A friend of mine fixed the check engine light.

At around the same time, the other car started making this knockng sound. I honestly don't even remember the exact sequence of things because it was a giant back and forth for months, but I do remember that when I got it back it started knocking again within 40 miles (one round trip to work) and broke down. They told me the camshaft was broken, which in turn screwed the whole engine. Long story short, $1000 and we had to scrap the car.

So between the two, $1600 for an oil-stained interior.

2 cute girls used their succubus power to tempt me into paying 4x the regular price of a magazine subscription

As the below poster mentioned, they were door-to-door sellers

I was a young kid and some door-to-door guy came around claiming to be selling magazine subscriptions. Long story short - I lost 20 bucks and never got the video game magazines he claimed to be selling.

Condolences to whoever knocks on my door in the future desperately seeking real help, because I will never trust anyone who goes door-to-door again.

while i was in Italy in a very tourist-heavy area a young man approached me and asked me to hold out my finger, so I did. he then started trying a string around my finger and braiding it in all these ways and after a minute or so he fashioned a bracelet that was wrapped around my wrist and he demanded 20 Euro. i looked at him and just said ".... no. i didn't agree to that. you can take the bracelet back" he then got really aggressive and got in my face and was all like "dude you just scammed me, you give me what you owe me. now". my girlfriend at the time just gave him a 5, said that was all the cash we had and we hurried off.

Nope. I'm naturally extremely skeptical and untrusting, to a fault. But it works out in this situation

I worked at K-Mart when I was 17 and this dude pulled a scam where you buy something cheap (a Sprite in this case) with a $100 bill and ask for change and then he gives you another $100 and asks for more change and somewhere along the line you give him more money than he's given you.

Yeah and even 8 years later if I ever see the guys I'm going to mace them then pummel them.

Speaking of which, that's also a reason I want to go to my class 10 year reunion

Twice I was on the edge of being scammed - once online, once over the phone by some Indian computer company. Both were when I was college age. Had the sense of mind both times to realize what was happening eventually and nothing happened.
