I had strict grammar guidlines I had to adhere to on basic essay papers when I was in high school 20 years ago. Okay. As a kid I was expected to reread my work and make sure nothing was misspelled.
How the hell is it that that basic level of grammar doesn't even apply to journalists these days? This is in no way the first time I've seen these types of errors on sites either. And even worse it's the teachers themselves. I work in a school district. I see what teachers write in their break rooms as notices to others and on their boards and papers in classrooms. There's grammatical, punctuation and structural errors of their stuff on a daily basis.

JFC! What the hell happened?

Journalism is dead. In the days of print you had to review your stuff, then somebody else would review it too and the grammar proof and citation standards were pretty high.

Now with the internet and cable News the only thing that matters is to get our breaking news quick. 90 typos? No sources? No problem!
