I was thinking that the human/dog relationship was something from the Japanese version which got cut from the American version.

I always liked Goldar. Was really hoping he would usurp the throne one day.

Goldar has a pretty interesting history. I could be wrong. But as I understand it, it goes a little something like this:

Goldar was killed in the first episode of the Japanese version, but the American version decided to let him live and designed a new costume so that he could be a recurring character. The absence of his wings in all new footage was explained away by saying that they were taken from him as punishment for his defeat.

He fought Jason in human form, but I don't think he ever again battled the Power Rangers. I kinda hoped for a rematch, but I guess one wasn't coming since they didn't have the stock footage for it. I didn't know that at the time though.

I remember. He only ever showed up to deliver the final blow. I don't think he was ever challenged once.

Grifforzer was a primary villain throughout Zyuranger and like the others was sealed away in the series finale. He and Lami then had a child.

Many Goldar costumes were made for Power Rangers. During early Season 1 episodes you may see a close up shot of Goldar talking and moving an arm about in Rita's palace. This is the first American footage of him. They later made the suit with the head that had the exposed teeth.

and yeah Titanus was around to form the Ultrazord. Even though they moved on to mechs from later series they brought Titanus back for Season 3 to have him combine with the Ninja and Shogun Megazords, but they used the toys for this as the characters came from different sentai series. This is most noticeable when he forms with the Shogun Megazord as the show's had a white arm, and the toy's had a pink arm and the thunderbolt symbols.

aastronema actually wore a different colored wig in nearly all her appearances, sometimes blue, purple, blonde, black or red

I don't know when I stopped watching. Once they switched from dino zords to samurai themed animals, I lost interest in everything but Zed. I think the last time I saw it, they had switched types again and were fighting some skull faced henchman in military gear.

yep. the show ignores the first movie so they introduced him early on in season 3 in the storyline where the power rangers get their ninja powers which they got in the movie.

I could maybe see making him her dimwitted brother if they were going to interact, but what was to be gained from making a buffoonish militant into the brother of the show's former antagonist?

what makes no sense is that we also meet zedd and rita's son way later in operation overdrive (the worst season of the show apparently) and he is fully grown
and he would have had to have been born before the end of power rangers in space

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that Zed was Rita's ex and that they were getting back together when Zed was first introduced. If that was the case, Rita could've had a son by him long before.

Then again, I guess their son would have to be 10,000 years old if that were the case since she was trapped for all that time.

No Rita was just one of his underlings. He banishes her at the beginning of Season 2, but Rita returns and with Finster's help creates a love potion which she uses on Zedd.

They don't explain Thrax's origins very well, but yes he would have been born prior to the end of in Space.
