I just watched the vid. The guy did look nervous, and it did look like he'd swiped something while the guy wasn't looking. He didn't - it was just the mentos, but it looked suspicious as fuck. This strikes me as an understandable mistake tbh.
Pulling the gun was perhaps unwarranted though either way. Edit: actually, he pulled the gun when the other guy reached into his pocket, having not said anything yet. It did look like the guy might have been pulling a gun, and given how nervous he was acting, the officer pulling his own gun in response made sense. This may have actually been a reasonable precaution.
