Not one of those. Tales of Phantasia or Star Ocean would be my picks.

It should be illegal to refer to FFVI as "III".

I have trouble deciding between Final Fantasy III (or Final Fantasy VI) and Chrono Trigger. I finally voted for Chrono Trigger.

I voted FFIII (or VI), but I prefer FF II (or IV). Maybe it is the same reason that someone else mentioned, but it really was the first RPG that I beat and holds a special attachment. I had FF 1 and Dragon Warrior 1 on NES, but never got very far in them. Do we consider Zelda 1 a RPG? If so, that was actually the first one I beat, but I can see that being more of an "adventure" or "action rpg" rather then a traditional RPG.

Cecil, Kain, Rydia, Tellah, Edward the "Spoony Bard," and FuSoYa all have a special place in my heart.

I agree with FinalXemnas and yes to your question.

You now have to refer to the Resident Evil games as Biohazard.

Did Cashcom retcon the RE games in NA to be named "Biohazard"? I never heard of this.

Not enough poll options. Also why would you put Breath of Fire 2 instead of 1? You also picked two games that most people wouldn't know about. Should have put Breath of Fire 1 and Lufia 1 instead of The 7th Saga and Paladin's Quest.

Anyway I vote for FF6. Chrono Trigger is a close second. Secret of the Stars was fun for what it was but man that translation was so awful.

Chrono Trigger is the best RPG on any system, so that gets my vote

Its so cliche and even back then time travel plots were common.

Its a great game, 8/10 but it hasnt aged as well as others on this list and I want to murder people who see the world through rose colored lenses because mine never seem to work and I dont want to be the only sober person in the world!!!

It might be a matter of taste more than nostalgia. I played a lot of those SNES games within a few years of each other, and I still think CT is the best of the group.

And time travel is done a lot, but its one of the best plot devices of all time, so Im ok with it.

I happened to not play the game until about 5 years ago, so you can't say I had rose tinted glasses. game aged perfectly fine imo.

Too bad Chrono Cross made the time travel pointless.

Doesn't matter since there's two others on the list that could have been replaced instead.

It is easy to overlook everything that the original Breath of Fire brought to the JRPG table because BOF2 brought so much more. (Lunar? Grandia 2? Final Fantasy X? ... BOF2 did that plot first.) But BOF1 is still a great game, IMO, and underrated.

Super Mario RPG is the only one on the list I've played, so it was an easy choice for me. I wasn't really into RPGs at that age.
