Great video, Peridiam, with good arguments, although I disagree at points. I did considerably not enjoy the premerge as much as you seemed you did, even though I generally agreed with your points (Jacob, Brendan, and Steph being good pre-merge characters, good non-traditional episode with HOPE). Just everything still seemed so orchestrated and not engaging by the edit.

And I don't agree with the destination justifying the journey for this instance.

Really great finale either way though, but one thing I wished you went into was the reunion. For such a exciting finish, I thought they needed the reunion more than most seasons to capture the players' reactions to it, but sadly, it was as short as Kevin Hart.

About the reunion, I kinda ripped on it a bunch in the HHH review and didn't feel like I had anything particularly worthwhile to say. It still sucks. I was thinking about going deeper into it after DvG if the reunion is still just as bad.

Also, although significantly shorter than a podcast, your videos were one of the three things I consumed fully during the season (B&B weekly, I eventually caught up with Know-it-alls)

Just to play devil's advocate, who would be a good older woman? Because the only one I can think off of the top of my head for the last couple of seasons Mama C.

Final note: Aubry talks alot on RHAP about being scarred by her two trips to Survivor why is she going for a third so soon?

I really though the captain theme was going to be people who lost on day 38 but I guess not. Oh well. I'm technically fine with all four of them, but I don't really need another mixed returnee season.

I love Wentworth and Aubry so I'm naturally happy to be seeing them both again. David returning was inevitable and I like him a lot, so that works, too. Joe... I have never cared for, but the casuals think he's Jesus. But I can't piece this theme together. A Day 38 Club one with Wentworth, Holly, David, and Devon would make far more sense. All of them had a great chance to win their seasons had they made the end.

As for the returnees we DID get...

David is definitely deserving of another go, but should have been saved for a full All-star season.

Aubry is a decent 3-timer choice, but maybe not quite so soon. I'd love to see her join the 100 day club AND be the quickest to do so (I think?)

Joe definitely does not deserve to be a 3-timer. As fun as he is, he is VERY one-note and I don't see his story being any different now than it was in 31.

The ONLY reason I can accept Kelley Wentworth as a 3-timer is because she got SO shafted in 29 that it was almost like watching a brand new character in 31, and it's like this is the second chance for THAT character.

Question to inviso (or everyone if they have their own?): are there any invisopinions you wont fight for? Something like cambodia being a bad season isnt usually agreed with but you have discussions/arguments each time its brought up. But are there any that people may not agree with, but you go "yeah i can see why i dont feel the same, nbd"? Just a random thought thinking about me being one of only a few who doesnt like holly barf gag vomit shoes

Also, I gotta say that after 29 seasons of this show, I've come to terms with the fact that I don't get what makes a good season of TAR, or why certain teams are good or bad, liked or disliked. Which is a strange feeling because I feel very strongly about Survivor and Big Brother.

Oh, and I suck at reading the TAR edit.

I pretty much like every season of TAR, barring maybe TAR8 (though even that season has its moments). And I generally have no feelings one way or the other about most of the winners. I just enjoy the ride around the world and then someone I'm not rooting for wins, and I'm like "ok next season". Maybe it's because I've been steadily watching this show from TAR1 to TAR28 over the past 3 years, I've become a blend of casual/hardcore. Everything from these past 29 seasons (minus TAR29) has blended together at this point (except the ending of TAR11).

I think a part of my casual nature for the show is because it's not much of a game, it's just a really cool journey with a few game-y elements thrown in.
