What i hate as an xl wearing fat man if i try on a medium or large people tell me "oh that fits fine" when my moobies are pressed against the shirt and im suffocating.

Sizing seems worse for women.

For me, medium shirts are usually fine. Occasionally I'll need a large, but some larges are fucking huge. My biggest issue is armpit wedgies because my lats are disproportionately big... Pants are a 33, which isn't an easy size to find sometimes. 32 fits better than 34 though, as 34 requires a tightened belt and I get this weird bunching.

I've bought a few clothing from Amazon and thus far the comments and "Fit: As expect" percentage does help with determining if I should go up or down a size. I ordered a sweater last year and majority of the comments stated it being smaller than the size listed so I order a XL instead of my usual L and sure enough, XL fit me about perfectly.

The only time I ever had a major issue was when I ordered a shirt and it was a large, but you know, going by Asian sizes. It was awful lol

My sister ordered a couple swimsuits online once from an Asian website and ordered XL ones (the largest they had). Apparently "XL" in an Asian swimsuit store means "C-cup," and they didn't remotely fit. She gave them to my girlfriend, who's a 32D, and they were still a little on the small side (wearable, but she couldn't exactly jump around at most beaches).

I personally feel that the whole small/medium/large sizing system is stupid. Just use measurements. Yeah, it's more to remember than a couple letters, but it's far more informative and far less prone to variations between brands (you'll still run into issues there, like apparently wearing 32"-waist jeans doesn't necessarily mean you'll wear 32" dress pants, but those can also be snuffed out). It also has the added bonus of not attaching any sort of connotation to the size, which helps maintain a realistic body image (both keeping people from feeling "large" with a 28" waist, and from feeling "small" with a 48" one).

Also, bra sizing is stupid and needlessly convoluted and that whole system mostly exists to make it easier to retailers to figure out which sizes to stock rather than because it makes any sense at all to consumers (at any band size, most people are going to fall into the B-C range, even though the cups in a 32C are like a quarter of the size of the cups in a 40C, so retailers can stock B-C's preferentially). Just measure actual band sizes (not measurement+4, as is currently done) and the distance from the centre of the boob to the bottom (when it's well supported).

I wish they'd just do measurements too. That's what I mean by universal sizing. It's so annoying to not know what pant size you are brand to brand because a 10 in one brand could be a 12 in another brand could be an 8 in another for pants. Then with bathing suits fucking forget it. I used measurements this time so let's hope for the best because I didn't want to leave my house but usually I have to try on 18 different suits in all different sizes to find anything that fits properly.

Yeah, I bought a cute one piece with tiny sleeves and a two piece as well. I already have a two piece so now I have three bathing suits. It's nice to have a variety especially in a place that is so hot.

I Was being sarcy to be fair, i did think about making note in my post about how you stated they were the same measurements but classed as different sizes but figured it was fairly obvious i wasn't being serious, guess thats my bad as its hard to tell when one is being sarcy or not.

On a more related note, i ordered 2 work shirts the other month, one short sleeved and one long, both the same size (apparently) but one was too big and the other too tight, so i had to go down a size in one and up a size in another.

Thankfully i have a sister who works at a clothes shop so i just get her to get me stuff (with her 50% discount) and if it doesn't fit she either returns it or swaps it for a different size, god how i hate clothes shopping.

On a somewhat related note, I hate dress sizes.

The fuck is a 12? At least small and large gives some kind of context, but dress sizes throw a random number at you that can be whatever cut the designer wants and it still counts as the abitrary number.

Eh, I can see two, in the event that you go swimming again before washing the first one. Reusing it isn't the end of the world, but it's still suboptimal. I actually have three, myself, but that's because I didn't bring one when I was traveling and it turned out that I needed one, so I bought one there. At ~$10, that wasn't a huge deal.

it's going pretty well. i think i'm not doing bad because i'm doing a lot of therapy. i'm doing PHP and IOP at a hospital, one on one therapy and i'm not working currently because i'm on short term disability and getting paid. so i'm pretty low stress right now and doing lots and lots and lots of therapy. and i did that month of treatment. plus i'm on medication to manage the chemical aspect of my depression.
