It's a new studio using Bethesda's assets to make a new game in a short amount of time, Just like New Vegas, so you know there's gonna be tons of bugs.
And it's online, which a Bethesda game has never been before, so multiply those bugs by 100.

standard version because amazon prime sucks now and doesn't give the 20% off anything special edition or better... Guess I'll never be buying special editions again for steelbooks! All the companies who make the games can thank amazon!

If anything, the most apt comparison seems to be more Metal Gear Survive.

Those are the main line numbers. It's like how BMW uses the same coding system for all their cars but spaces the numbers for different chassis types to avoid confusing a 2 litre 3 series for a twin turbo 3 litre 2 series.

I actually kinda of like the Bethesda Fallout games, and even I have no interest in this game.

Being a fan of Fallout 2 I had mixed feelings about Fallout 3 when they changed up from an iso-view & turn-based RPG game to a first/third-person turn-based/live action RPG game. In the end I thought Fallout 3 and New Vegas did a good job of giving us that immersive feeling of being in a wasteland while still carrying some of the black humor that Fallout and Fallout 2 were known for. Still, I would love a modern day game of FO2 as the original interface feels clunky.

Game is shaping up to be hot garbage.

But obviously it'll sell like fucking crazy because the average gamer is nearly brain-dead.

RIP Fallout. They've only been going downhill since the Black Isle games anyway, oh well.

Well I watched the noclip documentary and read some stuff about the game. MAYBE it won't be terrible idk. I was surprised about how radiation will actually matter in this game. Instead of just temporarily lowering your max HP, it will actually gives you mutations that give you some kind of buff, but at the cost of nerfing something else. Good!

Also apparently the developers they brought on to write the netcode were like "Bethesda your code sucks so we completely rewrote your engine for you" so maybe it won't be as buggy as a normal Bethesda game. >.>

Yeah my heart sank into my butt when I found out it was an online game, but the more details theyve talked about since the announcement the more it sounds like it will be pretty fun

Its not like Bethesda would have made a game that wasnt full of bugs.That's pretty much their signature style. Sometimes even their bugs have bugs. Their games are fun but consistently buggy as hell.

Their games are buggy but the amount of bugs is really exaggerated in my experience

It seems like it's going to have a "single player" mode in the same way games like ESO or GTAO have an online mode. In other words, you can play alone, but you still have to be online, and you're still in a server with other people, who can still choose to fuck with you if they want to. So, you know, not really "single player" at all.

It's still up in the air whether or not it could have a "passive mode" or pure PvE sort of system where you can become immune to other players and their griefing fuckery, but with everything they've said so far, if it has that option they've not mentioned it even once (and, in fact, have said a number of things that imply they absolutely don't have a feature like that, and will never implement one).

Which will probably be the deal-breaker for me. Games like Ark (which is exactly what I expect this game to be like) don't appeal to me in the slightest, because all of my creative builder instincts (ie, the things that made me enjoy Minecraft) are basically murdered stone-cold dead when the possibility of another asshole player fucking up hours and hours worth of my work for the lulz. And it seems like they've built that into the very core of the game with being able to nuke areas).

Theoretically, if post-launch it's demonstrated to have some form of passive mode where I can basically play "solo" and never have to interact with another player in any meaningful way, I might be more willing to give it a chance (but it'd still be iffy).

Everything that Fallout is known for not-setting wise isn't there. No NPCs, no story, no choices, hell, there's no damn stealth.
