I love this game so much.

In 1 you could destroy anything but they only gave you like 3 explosives ever.

In 2 you had tons of explosives but there was a lot you couldn't destroy.

Then this one happened.

i was actually hoping they'd do something with the series at least.

Late last year or earlier this year I actually bought another copy of the original Guerilla cause I wanted to play it.

then i heard this was happening

the review I was watching said, iirc, if you sacrifice 4K, on console, you get a 60 FPS lock.

but if you opt for 4K you're relegated to 30(?) FPS

doesn't really matter to me. I only have an Xbone

One of my favorite moments from the 360 days was when I had a mission to kill one guy in a building surrounded by guards. Didn't feel like doing loads of fighting, so I took a nuke rocket launcher and blew up the whole place in one go. Done in two minutes and home in time for breakfast.

This game was the best for stuff like that. There was that one mission with the snipers, and after trying to find the last one forever, I just grabbed my hammer and took down the whole building lol.

Sadly, I still had to kill the sniper. He must have been on the roof.

I hate to be this guy, but I own literally 2 physical Xbox 360 games, Beatles Rock Band and Red Faction: Guerilla. I never had the heart to sell it or trade it in because it's one of my all-time favorite games and probably my favorite 360 game overall. I was thrilled for the remaster and bought it last night.

It was the most godamn fun I had in multiplayer in a long time when it first came out. Absolute shame the online population never got big and dried up fast. Got to the point where I knew everyone I'd play with and against. I'd party up with one group of friends and we'd keep getting matched against other parties full of people we all knew.

And to this day: Fuck all of you that just Grinder spammed the entire game :/

Some of those side missions are bullshit. Convoys are the worst if you miss any in one area before unlocking the next.

I used to have a post way back when on the RF:G board for PS3 that broke down the guerrilla actions to track and clear them all in each area because people had such a hard time with it, wonder if it's still archived somewhere

no, a Dust one. have to get one of the big container trucks to the middle Dust safehouse in 45 seconds.

The only time save is at the very beginning where you have to make a jump over a small cliff. the rest is just... luck?

There's a depressing amount of luck involved in all of them, yes. I just remember one, out of either Badlands or Oasis that takes you across most of the map all the way back to Parker that made me want to punch a baby in the face.

Oh, when you get to the Badlands, try to keep the Harrington Memorial Bridge as intact as possible, don't get into firefights on it. IIRC my first play through I tore it apart immediately, and came to deeply regret that during any mission after that had you go through there. I'm pretty sure one of the later Transporters is fucking impossible to hit pro time without the bridge to cross the canyon.

Once you're done with all the transporters, feel free to get some heavy ordnance and rip that bridge a new asshole. Personally I like provoking the EDF into sending one of those multi-missile tanks for me to hijack.

when i played the game again in 2017, after finishing the game, you get the repair tool (at least on PC)
i tried my best to repair the bridge manually, but i think it's programmed to just refuse, cause once i had it like 95% done, it just falls apart again.

but, there is a way to fix it.
if you do that, what's it called, the thing where you ride on the back of a fat guys car an fire rockets.
everything you hit with that thing gets completely repaired once the mission is over, including the bridge. but with the route he takes, you have to be pretty lucky with the shot

It really isn't. I got the Plat for it when it first came out through crazy determination. I do not recommend the experience. Just enjoy it for the destruction fest it is, and get creative using destruction. The sledgehammer attracts surprisingly little attention via noise when busting through a wall to your objective. You can be surprisingly stealthy in this game too... as you rig the structure you're in to blow when you leave :p

Which is a shame because it could've stood getting some stuff hammered out.
