I see sometimes people act like siblings with their cousins. like super close. I never had that because my family always lived far away from the rest of my relatives due to my dad moving us around in the army. as a kid, I rarely saw my cousins for most of my childhood and so they were kinda like strangers to me. I always wondered what it's like to grow up with a close cousin. I imagine it's like extra siblings. but I can only guess

I haven't seen or heard from mine in many years.

No, albeit with one exeption. I always got along with them when i'd see them, but that was maybe once or twice a year growing up and then a handful of times since. I was really close to one of my cousins though, we'd talk almost daily back in the days of aol instant messenger. When we did see each other in person we were pretty inseparable.

I have 5 cousins. I'm close to the one who's the same age as me. We grew up together basically and got into a lot of trouble together as kids.

My cousins live in a different state and a different country. Don't really know much about my mom's side of the family, but the cousins on my dad's side live in Florida and Trinidad. I'm here in Trinidad right now actually and I saw some cousins, but one ones I'm closest with I haven't seen in 4 years

Yeah it's been about that long for one of mine as well, and she had cancer at the time as well. Never did find out what happened to her. Last time I saw her she had started chemo.

On my mom's side I don't actually have any first cousins but I have four second cousins that I was pretty close to growing up, as close as some people are to their first cousins. One of them in particular I used to chat online with a lot when we were younger teens but eventually stopped that years ago, probably around the middle of high school. Now I'm not particularly close anymore with any of them but I still see them a couple times a year at family events. My sister however still hangs out with one of them on occasion.

On my dad's side I have.... 6 first cousins. Two of them me and my sister were pretty close to growing up but our family had a falling out with theirs when we were younger and it has continued into adulthood. I haven't seen them or spoken to them since. Pretty dumb but whatever. The remaining 4 I have barely seen and/or spoken to.

Overall I was probably closer to the second cousins on my mom's side than to any first cousins on my dad's. It wasn't quite "extra siblings" but probably somewhere between close friend and sibling.

I have too many cousins to count but only one of them has made any attempt to contact me since childhood. And even then, we're just FB friends. And we never talk.

I've gone out of my way to avoid dealing with my extended family. We just aren't compatible people.

Not now so much but Ive been on good terms with some of them before. I had a female cousin offer to have one of her guy friends show me the city nightlife once I had gotten to college which was nice of her, almost sisterly. And I have an older guy cousin who used to exchange emails with me about music and good food recipes, which was dope.

Mine all live 900 miles away but they'd answer the phone if I needed them, so I assume yes we are all pretty close.

I have probably ~15 cousins that all lived quite close (1ish hour drive max) when I was growing up and so I met up with them a lot at various family events and stuff. A few more have moved farther away since but they still come back for stuff fairly often anyways. They basically feel like siblings to me now, I'd say that overall my couins are like, my closest friends

I lived next door to my cousin when I was a kid so he was my best friend for years. When I moved we still spoke on the phone until we just stopped talking entirely. Good memories though

Were not buddy buddy best friends but if we see each other out we say hey and catch up for a bit.

A couple times Ive walked into a store or a restaurant and theyve given me huge discounts without ever saying anything about it. Thats cool.

We can go years without seeing each other but the next time we meet, no time at all has passed. We pretty much are bothers and sisters.

I've got 3 in particular that I've always been really close to since we were all almost the same age. We don't hang out as often, but when we do it's fun stuff. Usually Vegas or Laughlin trips during the summer.

Close with some, not with others. Both of my parents were from bigger families so I have at least 30.

They live at my grandmas house and we visit every weekend, though we kind of leave each other alone. I used to be close with one of my girl cousins as a little kid. I used to have a crush on her and that kinda drew her away. Ugh... Her brother still makes little bits of chit chat every now and then.
Then my other aunt lives in California and has two little kids. A little annoying but we play when we do meet up and it can be fun.

2 and a half female cousins.
1 grew up normal, 1 moved to Germany and dated a dude 30 years older than her, and I haven't seen the half one since I was 10.

They lived in a different state growing up, so I only saw them once every few years.

Varies for me. I have one who was like a little sister to me apparently when we were young, according to this family drawing I made made when I was 4-6, an only child at the time. I don't remember that. We're still relatively close. She got me my current job as she and her husband own the business, so that's awesome. I don't see her too often though. I also used to be close to her younger brother. He was closest in age to me among male cousins. He stated working for the same business about a year to a year and a half after I did and we've had some conflict. We just basically tolerate each other now. We had an office mini-golf thing not too long ago and I beat him after he got a hole in one on the first hole and got cocky about it (whereas I screwed it up but ultimately did the rest of the course better). My other cousins, I don't see as often.
