Yeah I don't know how people dislike Donald Glover in general, but it just goes double for his role in Community. The little noise he makes before putting the notch in the table is so good. Plus there's this:

I just watched the first two episodes of Parks & Rec and I didn't think it was that funny, Amy's character pretty obviously seemed like she was supposed to be a female version of Michael Scott except less funny. Does she get better?

I'll keep watching, but mainly because Rashida Jones is so damn fine, is she a normal character in the show?

She is, for sure.

I didn't put Parks & Rec in my Top 5 because Knope's act can grate on you and Aziz Ansari/Aubrey Plaza get dry around Season 3. Luckily, Ron Swanson carries the show and the arrivals of Rob Lowe & Ben boost the show. Pratt is on with his humor in some episodes, and some you forget he's even there.

Show definitely needed more Jean Ralphio, though. He was the diamond in the rough.

Parks season 1 is really weird. It's short though, and you'll become a fan during season 2. It becomes goat in 3 when Adam Scott and Rob Lowe join

Honestly though, and I suggested this with the girl I'm seeing; you can feasibly start the show at S3 E1. They have a little mini recap that basically sums up the important events of season 2, names all the characters again and where they're at, and drops you right in at a good spot where they go around and "gather up the cast" again.

Season 1 is very weak, that's not preposterous to say. Season 2 gets a little better, but not by much. There are a couple of gems like Hunting Trip and 94 Meetings (also Ron and Tammy is good), but overall, nothing that you're really missing.

Starting at S3 seems to have worked just fine. Other than a few unimportant references (like the gay penguin wedding or Louis CK's character), you aren't missing much.

But I will say, since you seem dedicated to the show, you could start at S2 E23 when Rob Lowe and Adam Scott join. It's only two more episodes and it kinda irons down their intro and personalities.

I got up to Season 2 episode 11 and yeah it got better in Season 2 but I felt like I was forcing myself to watch through it.
