The only thing it did was make abortions in the first trimester allowed. There aren't brain waves until about halfway through a pregnancy, so there's nothing wrong with terminating a pregnancy before that point. There isn't a mind in there, so there isn't a person. A mouse is closer to personhood than a first-trimester fetus. As long as mouse traps are legal, early-term abortions should be legal.

On the matter of later-term abortions, I don't feel that those should be elective because I do think that once a fetus has a mind, it should have rights. They may have very rudimentary minds at the 4.5-5 month stage, but I feel that there is intrinsic value to a mind and should be given some rights and respect. That being said, nobody aborts a fetus that far along without medical necessity. All abortions that late are tragedies, because they were wanted and loved children. I've personally seen people I care about be hurt by restrictive laws that shamed them for having to end a pregnancy that they wanted to keep, but couldn't. As someone who's about to see my new daughter born within a week, I can't imagine losing her and then being shamed on top of that.

it's sucks what they are doing in most state anyway. they make it extremely hard to even get an abortion.

http://www.cc.com/video-clips/wrmpe9/the-opposition-with-jordan-klepper-mississippi-s-last-abortion-provider

I remember the texas fight where Rick Perry and Ted Cruz teamed up to make only 2 abortion clinics in the whole states, about3 years ago. they had a ton of people opposing them. The Supreme Court had to get involve to overturn it.

really? didn't read that, so there are much more than 2 in the state now, as big as texas is? And lemme guess cruz and perry have no problem with drastically cutting funding for social aid programs for those kids too am i right?

Ive read a few articles saying it wont be that easy. That just having a majority that would vote it down isnt inherently enough to do so. First there would be a reason theyd have to hear the case. And then to remove whats already an established and protected right is a whole new level. It already has precedence, and thats basically the backbone of our judicial system. To basically throw something out could legitimately cause chaos and allow for judges to rule because they felt like it rather than based of established law.

Then the same thing applies to it getting overturned in the first place.

Thats.... exactly what I said.

Yeah. I think he's saying that even though it has to go through all that to get overturned, it can go through it all again to overturned again. It would probably be easier to get it back if it goes away, tbh. Well, I think it would...

I want abortions to be completely legal, but for people to finally admit that it is murder and that humans are ok with murdering babies for personal convenience. We all know you lot have done far more reprehensible deeds, after all.

Humans are scum and should embrace it wholeheartedly if they want to have a chance at competing with the other enlightened species out here.

Id love to live in a world where we never even had to have it in the first place. a world where no one ever feels a need to get an abortion except out of medical necessity. Sadly, the people who are most opposed to abortion are also most opposed to the things that'd help bring about such a world.

Until we do reach that point, things such as roe v. wade are sadly necessary.

Damn, that's cold. They could have an abortion out of responsibility, which makes them less human scum.

But i'm more afraid that once it goes away the illegal clinic will pop back up and more pregnant woman will die. Abortions clinic still existed without roe v wade, they were a lot less safe than they are now.

That's the next thing on these people's agenda to ban all contraceptives I mean. They already humiliate women who go into a pharmacy to ask for any pill that might terminate a pregnancy, no matter if a doctor orders it or not, under the guise of 'offending the pharmacists' religious beliefs' but that same pharmacist will fill a man's Viagra perscription without a qualm. My comment on this is that not all people should be parents, the system for unwanted children is hell, and not all lives are worth living.

Plus the aforementioned lack of brain waves.

I've done everything possible to prevent pregnancy in my life, including abstinence and my husband having a vasectomy. If I got pregnant anyway, I think I would DESERVE an abortion. :P
