I always thought the game was really cool especially since you can watch the rides and make spiral death coasters and sit in them in first person. I don't remember the game having very much 'tycoon' depth but I think that's because I did money cheats, I was pretty young.
I see online a lot of people prefer the first two games, is there a big reason besides personal preference? Also I think there was a new one recently but it seems like nobody talks about it? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

imo the isometric view of the first two fit better and was a lot more intuitive for me, and the graphics have aged better.
Planet Coaster is a really good modern version, by the people who made RCT3, if you want a more polished take on that. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I only really played the first one, and i loved the shit out of it. Tried to play the 2nd one, but all the maps were like fantasy or sci fi worlds, which I think are cool, but I wanted the option to build a theme park in a realistic setting. So I didnt really get into that one.
Never played the 3rd one, though. ... Copied to Clipboard!

RCT Classic or bust.
Its like the Sims 2 or SimCity4. Could be GOAT with improvements but every attempt has been shit thus far. As for RCT, the older versions just play better imo. Simple gameplay that allows for a ton of satisfaction. Beating a scenario or perfecting your ideal park in Classic is just great. In RCT3....eek. Plus, Classic also has the benefit of a practically perfect smartphone port. --- we are forced to subsidize views we may not agree with. 1 and 2 are amazing, I own them both. 3 went in a different direction. I have yet to play it.
