Six Flags is all about milking more money out of you and I get that but this makes no sense.

There's Normal, Gold, and Platinum. Normal costs $55 and it says you wait the current length of the line. What the hell am I missing here?

Gold is $100 for the day to skip most of the line... Such a rip-off all around, but I just don't get what the "normal" one does.

Based on my brief search just now, it seems like the regular flash pass allows you to get a ticket to come back to the ride at a later time. Similar to fast pass in disneyland etc.

I assume the advantage of normal is, you can come back at a later time and skip the line when it's your time. Thus allow you to wait on a line for another ride in the interim and get through more rides throughout the day.

Gold and platinum seem to have even shorter times though for you come a skip the line. Right? So there is an advantage to normal, just not as speedy as gold and plat.

It's not explained any better on the website either. There doesn't appear to be any incentive to do the normal pass.

Its cool, I just dont like how its called flash pass. Its a little misleading. Thats what made me get it; I thought I was getting front of the line privileges. Turns out, its basically a reservation, where you reserve a time and come back at that time. That was fine with me, though. My cousin was the one pissed lol

For $100, you get a real flash pass though

Honestly if you get to six flags right when it opens, most of the lines are pretty empty for 2 hours. Then you can get the fuck out by the afternoon and not spend $20+ on a whole pizza >_>

I think that gold flash pass was always $100 so it may be misleading but at least it's not price gouging

Well you need to have the dining pass. It's a complete rip-off if you don't. I had the Italian beef today, had it dipped with hot peppers and got a bunch of really good waffle fries with it. Cost me nothing but it would be $16.50 regular.

I also got a huge snow cone that you put your own flavors in that was really good, free as my snack.

quite the opposite actually, rides give me panic attacks. I'd probably literally die of a heart attack if I went on a roller coaster, and if I ever got stuck on one I would unstrap myself and jump off

Flash passes and skip the line passes have really made me not enjoy amusement parks in the past few years. It just makes it really frustrating for those of us who can't afford $100 extra to not wait in line

I'll get a flash pass/quick pass whenever I can. Waiting 3 hours for Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom wasn't fun.

We got a quick pass for Universal Orlando and it was totally worth it. Got through literally everything in less than a day with multiple breaks in between.

no I feel like the panic attack would get so bad I'd rather try to climb down than be stuck on a roller coaster for hours

Cedar point is the same way with 3 tiers. Tier 1 doesnt even work for most good rides so its functionally worthlessmost of the time.

Tier 2 gives you access to all rides but you still wait in line with all the other fast pass fucks, so you may as well wait in the regular line. Then the elite pass let's you skip ahead of them all and it's like a status symbol to clown on the idiots who wasted the money on it.

Then you have even better than all the passes. The coupons they give to people who got stuck on a broke down ride. Instant VIP access to skip everything, pass or not.

It's a fucking joke. It's like a micro transaction as a fucking amusement park. Then they have 4 tiers of season passes. But that's for another day

At Disney World you can only book 3 Fast Passes though, and the real popular rides are "sold out" of them months in advance.

Yeah the fast pass system at Disney is weird. My friend was a Disneyworld expert though and he booked the popular rides in advance for us. We managed to skip lines for Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Aerosmith, Hollywood Tower, and Indiana Jones. He even managed to get us a second fastpass and we rode Space Mountain twice in a day.

How about arcades and tokens/paper tickets, too.

(What's ironic is that paper seems to be disappearing in grocery stores, and plastics more prevalent. At least it seems that way because I shop at Wal-Mart....either way.."Progress"!)

(Also, fuck the police state and/or nanny state)

One time I was stuck at the top of the dragster at cedar point for 15 min. It went backwards before they could get anyone up to fix it. Then they tried running the ride again. This time it didn't make it up the hill all the way and went backwards. They closed the ride because of that.

That's how it is, or at least used to be, at the six flags in Illinois. We'd go out for a picnic for lunch, then head back in.

I got my niece a season pass for her birthday a few years ago, and got some dining passes. It was cool that it showed the average cost per meal go down on the receipt. By the end of the year, it got down to about $1.80 per meal.

I kind of wish they would ban outside food at Disney, though. Everytime I take the family, there are tons of people going through security with several over stuffed bags and coolers, and it makes it take forever to get past the bag checking stand.
