the Loftwing controls are still ass why couldn't it just be mapped to the stick or at least be straightforward like Wii Sports Resort

The birbs are easy. Hell, the motion controls are fine for everything except electric bokoblins. Fuck them.

I found it easiest to control loftwing by holding the remote entirely from the bottom instead of wrapping my hand around it. Like, steady it between thumb and pointer finger and rest it on the side of your hand

considering how I was surprised about how much useless noise I could skip so far I expect to be very frustrated by Fi, she's not even a cute mascot

also I kinda hate the UI with the Wiimote overlay taking up like a sixth of the screen and no minimap

I started up my third attempt at getting through the game the other day, having never even made it to the first dungeon before and it being the only 3D Zelda I have yet to finish. Currently about to enter the second dungeon, but having definite issues with the motion controls. Most things are okay enough I guess, but falling is fucking stupid and I swear the bug nut doesn't respond well at all.

Also by the end of the first dungeon, I was already dead sick of Fi.

my first try I managed to get through the first dungeon but had no desire to go any further, second try I dropped it almost immediately because Link's movement just felt like garbage to me at the time

Theres such a fun dungeon later on tho

I haven't found Fi that annoying, completely ignoring the navigator's advice prompts like I do every Zelda, but every time they do interrupt things or I check for advice on my own, it's the most needlessly drawn out shit I've seen from a navigator character in a game

still enjoying it, they're keeping a nice brisk pace in the Temples, but that boss was pretty shitty

Ehh, personally I prefer the 6th dungeon more than I did the 2nd dungeon, as far as fire dungeons go. Having two fire themed dungeons was a dumb choice, but I liked the 2nd one more. Aesthetics, the free fall at the end, and the fire hands.

There's a pretty big divide on SS controls. Half of people really are inept at figiluring out how to properly use a Wiimote is my only conclusion. They work very well, very intuitively for me.

I never had any issue with the swordplay the first time but couldn't stand the other stuff, this time I can tolerate the misc. stuff more, except the Loftwing when the game wants me to do anything more involved than get from Point A to Point B

I was so relieved that balancing on the spheres in the Earth Temple wasn't motion controlled like in Mario Galaxy

Just finished the third dungeon myself. Liked the concepts, but way too many slow "follow the minecart" segments for my liking. I'm overall enjoying the game more as I go along; combat is feeling more satisfying.

didn't play any yesterday, partway through Lanaryu Mining Facility, just got the dungeon map then quit because my batteries were low and I don't have any spare AAs right now

Tons of fun until you're backtracking through a section AGAIN due to lazy game design artificially trying to lengthen the game.

I don't really mind backtracking as long as there's something new there, and you can warp to any Bird Statue you've been to anyways, unless it pulls a Ys SEVEN and deletes all your quick travel spots because fuck you

either way I'll see how it handles the backtracking when I get there

Up past the second Silent Realm now. These are nowhere near as bad as I thought they'd be.

The complaints about Silent Realms are as blown out of proportion as complaints about motion controls. I love the concept of bringing the phantoms from the DS games into the 3D games in some form.
