Using a brown bag only draws suspicion to yourself, and will not stop you from getting cited or arrested for drinking in public.

If you just drink your beer confidently, you are less likely to draw suspicion to yourself. It helps to choose a beer with a fairly nondescript label, though, like the Steel Reserve Alloy series which can easily be mistaken for an energy drink

No I know that, but I'm talking about how IIRC it was some sort of weird legal technicality about being "in plain sight."

Obviously everyone and their mother knows drinking from a brown paper bag is booze, but the fact that it's not in "plain sight" is what made it at least not citeable from a "probable cause" standpoint or something like that.

I did a little bit of digging and I found that the brown bags are just a form of modesty. Liquor stores put bottles and cans in them just so that their customers can protect their modesty. It's still illegal to drink booze out in public though.

Just pour the beer into a soda bottle. Even if its a clear bottle most beers have a color that's passingly similar to a cream soda or ginger ale.

Its not a legal loophole its more of a if youre not being obvious and not causing any other trouble, they have more important things to do

I believe the only places you can drink openly in the public is New Orleans and Savannah. Sidenote, Ive been wasted out of my mind in both.

You know what works well? Getting a fountain drink thats only half full of soda, and a pint of liquor and throwing it in the cup with the soda.

Well, as a professional alcoholic that drinks at work occasionally, I found the ultimate sneak. Gotta get a large drink cup from a fast food place and set the 12oz beer can inside of it and drink the beer through the straw. Works like a charm.

It's flavored vodka so I don't need to mix anything with it. Currently blueberry flavor, though they also got a lemonade one which I liked. They still get pink lemonade vodka, which is good, but not quite as good as the regular lemonade one, plus it's pink, so it doesn't look like water.
