So first impressions just playing it loosely:

+Good graphics and classic smt style/design
+Very true to SMT gameplay. Feels like a game adapted for mobile
-This will murder your battery. Like this is my deal breaker now
-Very in your face about the cash shop, which is relatively expensive
-Worried about resource scarcity, can't judge just yet

Overall I'll play it more tomorrow but... I got a better Gacha to play

I played the beta for a while and it was kind of meh.
The storyline was straight up trash but I guess you don't really play it for that. The overall mechanics aren't terrible but like has already been mentioned, the menus are way too cluttered and I don't know if they've added a way to play in landscape mode but if not, they really need to.

The color scheme is offensive on the eyes, too, and while this is a personal complaint it feels way more like a Persona game than a Shin Megami game. I imagine that's by design but it's still a bit disappointing.

I don't think it's the worst thing ever but there are way better games in this genre to be playing right now.

I did recently get a new phone which touts a strong battery (which is great, because the back can't be removed), and I did play a little of it last night and it wasn't drained at all. Though I have to play for longer to be sure.

I'm sure the game will be as shallow as most mobile games, but I want to at least play long enough to get a Lilim.

Food fantasy is ok. It has a lot going for it, but the combat is like a very watered down version of girls Frontline. Valkyrie is solid, not amazing, not terrible. Moe is actually quite good. The battle system is fun, think disgaea meets fire Emblem, but with mechs.

The in game chat was discussing it, seems almost everyone is having lag issues. I'm on a note 8, a relatively high end phone and I get lag. The only people I saw who didn't have lag were pixel 2 people. Supposedly you can tone down the graphics and it helps.

I'm enjoying it. I think the tutorial shit and the constant forced interactions get really really really annoying, but I have a team that I'm pretty proud of.

Got my Mermaid, which I have an uber Mermaid in SMT4A, and got a Sandalphon who's supposedly the best 4*.

Really hard to get gems though... I wanna roll for Alice before she goes away, even tho the % chance of getting her is abysmally low lol.

I don't think this will be a long term game for me but if enough people here play it might be fun to talk each other through it

Yeah that was what was surprising to me. There aren't any bots, lots of people who answer your question pretty quickly. There's a bug though, where if you scroll up and down too quickly, the chats duplicate or load incorrectly which can make things confusing.

I'm sloooowly seeing the seems fall apart with this game... They're asking way too much of the players despite their rates and slow gem rewards. And singleplayer, while the story is better than most similar mobage, is not enough to hold the game up, and the endless maze, while fun at first, went on for way too freaking long. It'd also just boot me out of the blue, which is just annoying more than anything.

It's really hard to get the kind of demons with the skills that I want. The biggest problem is that fusing only gives you common demons, which have a fixed skill. When you roll, it's even worse in that you get locked into one of 4 types that you can't change, and depending on the type, you get a certain skill for that character. So gacha is really important, but you basically have to suffer through absolute garbage rates lol. Because if you roll, you can always just insert whatever skill you want for the last slot, which also requires the player to do a ton of grinding.

It's just like catch-22 the game. Sure you CAN have fun, but you aren't allowed to for a good week of mindless boring grinding

As much as I ended up quitting Star Ocean mobage early, which that game's problem was a lack of content in the end game which can easily be fixed later on I'm sure, that game really understood how to do the mobage early game. Give just enough materials to make and max like 2/3 of your team, which is enough to do every content on multi as well as all the single player content yourself without having to make too much sacrifice or grind your ass off. If you want a good recent mobage, which you probably should usually play stuff that already has a lot of content released, SO:A is not bad

I've been fusing a lot. But you can only get common demons, which are locked to probably the worst skill amongst the 5 types. Like the skill in between the default 3 and the inheritable slots, that's the skill that you get depending on what demon type you get.

You get the demon, but basically the worst version of it. I didn't think it was this way because you can theoretically get any demon you want. I was wrong, and it turns out that to go the extra distance with your team, you have to roll in a gacha that has 95% of rolling a 3*, which almost all of them suck except like Feng Huang, but you also have to pull the right type of Feng Huang lmfao.

It's a shitshow. I actually think this is one of the worst mobages I've played in a while

The other factor is that you can also, in relatively traditional SMT fashion, just fuse and make your own 5* with some grinding.
