Also, maybe you could just blacklist certain sites for low-karma accounts that are heavily used such as imgur, imgtc. SBAllen made his comments on it and closed the topic. I wish I could have still asked him a question, that being: if the reasoning for it is that it "punishes new users" and will only "temporarily" give us peace, why even have karma-restrictions? What's the point of making a 3 karma threshold for CE, or the recent account level requirements for the politics board they just implemented? Isn't every restriction placed on new accounts "punishing" them then?
I'm sure SBAllen has data that I do not, but I don't really understand why there is a difference in reasoning.
