They had an election where Ted fucking Cruz was a drag on the GOP and rose Democratic numbers significantly, with the end result of being a few seats flipped while the GOP held on to the Senate and easily retained the governor's mansion and the statehouse.

This was a good election for the Democrats in Texas, but I'd be hard-pressed to equate that as a sign of anything to come. Cruz isn't going to be on the ballot again until 2024, and Trump easily outpolls that creeper so even a presidential turnout in 2020 won't have the same GOP detriment.

Many people from California are moving to Texas for job opportunities (thank you R gov!), and thus causing an influx of liberal voters. Sadly, the strong culture and respect for the state is going downhill because of this. Just look at Austin, once a beautiful city...

So...let me get this straight:

Can the argument be made that these people are fleeing California due to a lack of job opportunities - which, could be caused by leftist policies?

Then they go to Texas and vote for the very same policies that caused them to flee to begin with?

75% of 18-40 year olds voted democratic. 97% of 18-35

Republicans have a major issue thats going to bite them hard withen 15 years. Their base is going to start dying in record numbers with no new base to fill in all the lost numbers.

I think this is a good analysis. I think the results being close is the result of how poor of a candidate Ted Cruz is.
