These two points contradict themselves considering a stronger looking Bowser put up a lower percentage than the current one against a weaker looking Kirby. If anything the 2005 match suggests stats don't confuse us on this particular match

Ness really benefits from low votals and a small post-Undertale/LISA bump with those two games shining a bright light on Earthbound for the whole world. . Its not hard to see why Ness wins by that much. Fire Emblem was never worth too much. Smash is all Ike has going for him compared to Ness. To compare with another series character, Lucina at least has a tiny bump from FatesWakening being more well known compared to PoR/RD outside of the FE fandom. I am confident that Lucina > Ike 1v1 based on that alone even if it makes you raise an eyebrow.

1. There's no result to ever suggest that Earthbound benefits from small votals.
2. Lucina's 35% on Auron really isn't that great. These characters have all performed consistently better that in the past. Marth would do better than that and Phoenix already easily beat him.

Charizard was awesome back in the day. I was rooting for him when he beat down bowser. But theres no consistency. Might as well put blastoise in there to see what he can do.

Im just saying pokemon entries seem random and for their time with these contests.

Charizard definitely got weaker. Next contest hell be struggling to beat the likes of Nathan drake.

I'd still call Lucina's performance an improvement from 2013 where she got 37.17% against Dracula (and then Dracula gets 32.33% on Sonic). She is clearly stronger than in 2013 when Fire Emblem: Awakening was only about 5 months old and not as many people have played the game. Lucina also got into Smash later on.

I think that Kirby has always done better in multi-way polls, so something like a "sore thumb factor" seems reasonable.

Gen 8 can be amazing and bring back the faith in Gamefreak

Pokemon as a franchise is dead to me anyway. Until we get a fully open world Pokemon game that isnt tailored towards children most of the time i wont care for it.

What we're seeing here is the Bowsette boost on full display. Bowser underperformed against 2B because 2B reverse SFFed that boost. Without another hot girl in the poll, Bowser is much stronger. I don't think this will benefit Mario as much, though it may help a bit.

Adding in difficulty settings would go a long way towards making a game that can also be tailored to adults who may already be veterans to the series.

Fun fact if Kirby moves the % in the other direction the same amount Bowser did in the positive direction on the so called "no reason to doubt this match result changing ever" match he wins.

Fun fact 2 the 2005 match was used as a deciding factor while people were lecturing on using 5 year old stats as being too dated

Fun fact 3 if you say no match result changes ever Bowser lost to Charizard in 2010 by more than Kirby lost to Bowser

I mean if Bowser wins he wins, good job, but none of the logic in picking him really strikes as consistent or valid to me.

I think Nintendo just does super well against weaker characters but when there's actual competition people become a little more 'honest' with their voting if I can call it that.
