According to Recode, internet speeds actually have increased nearly 40 percent since net neutrality was abolished.

Overall internet speeds increasing has nothing to do with net neutrality. That's a natural progression of technology.

Well, was the ultimate goal of net neutrality. The United Nations wanted to implement net neutrality across the western world for data collection and selective censorship. Basically, I might have a right to say something in the United States, but the United Nations would have control over who said what online.

It was an extremely harmful idea. The internet is literally how we get news and information out there, when 92%+ of the media is controlled by the opposition. If they could censor us completely, there would be total control.

Of course, Im talking about people from other countries. America should control America. Britain should control Britain, etc.

So ISPs treat internet traffic as neutral by not throttling traffic. It prevents them from killing competition.

Or traffic as in Netflix speeds versus text-based websites speeds? Like, why does it even matter? I still get 80gbps since all of this happened. Why fix it if it ain't broke? Ya dig

exactly. Net Neutrality has been the core idea behind the internet since the internet was a thing. Before it was a thing, even. so why are ISPs pushing so hard to kill it if they don't stand to gain from it's death... And why are they lying about it only being 3 years old if it's such a horrible thing?

Because facts be damned, traffic drives ad revenue.

They've actually removed that line completely, and in fact their current "definition" of Trolling is an absolute fucking joke.

Here's a copy of the ToU from 2009:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/573081-hellhole/48994076

Here's the line about "Trolling":
* Trolling (Inciting Flames) - Messages intended solely to annoy and/or offend other users by going against the clear nature of a board, topic or chat room are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to: provoking other users to respond with flames; provoking fans of a particular system or game, especially on boards or topics dedicated to that system or game; making misleading topic titles; asking obviously useless questions; posting false information as fact; and using another users quote in your signature without permission.

Here's the current ToU:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/features/tou

"Trolling" is no longer found under the "Community Rules" section. Instead you have to go to the Board Etiquette page:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/features/board_etiquette

Which says:
Trolling is not someone posting an opinion that differs from yours, but someone posting a message designed to get others mad enough to violate one of the other rules. Going on a board and posting "This game sucks and everybody who enjoys it is stupid" is trolling, and nothing good will come of it. Going on a board and posting "I hated this game, the controls were awful," isn't trolling, although it may not be popular opinion. Even if you disagree, you can either debate the user on their points or just ignore it.

I also want to add that's some of the worst legalese I've ever read in my life that wasn't translated from a foreign language through Google Translate.

This is like an episode of Dexter where Dexter has Net Neutrality tied to his table in plastic wrap and just circling around it, ready to murder it.

Like the ISPs have us exactly where they want us, they know they just have to gradually make it worse over the course of decades to erode the free internet (like they attempted several times even before net neutrality died).
