I blame Swift Strike. I mean, it does "light" physical damage and yet it's viable until the end of the game almost. Not the only thing that makes the game easier, obviously, but it's one of the earlier gamebreakers IIRC.

What makes you say that?

I regret playing that game on Normal so much. It was a cakewalk and ruined the last half of the game for me because there was no challenge. The worst part about it is that you need to beat the game twice to fight the secret boss, great, but you keep your personas and gear with New Game+ so even if you pick hard the second time through it's STILL easy. So if I wanted to do a fresh playthrough on Hard I still wouldn't be able to fight the optional boss until ANOTHER playthrough. It's really dumb. I just wish I picked hard at the start. If it's early enough to restart, do it

To answer your question yes it's clear they made it much more accessible because they knew a lot of new players would buy it.

I would like the Persona games a lot more without having to do certain things on certain days in order to mid/mas. Yes, I know you don't have to do that, but I always do since the game kind of calls of it.

I get that's a big draw for people, I could never really get into it. With that said, I did enjoy both 3 and 4, and what I've played of 5 (I was on my Brothers PSN when I bought and played it. Got my own PS4 later, and I don't want to buy P5 again), but I did look up FAQs because I didn't want to fuck up

I thought it was a nice difficulty. There were only like 3 bosses that took more than 1 try but most of them at least felt tense.

I can't imagine them bumping up the difficulty without just fucking you over with rng bullshit.

yea i kinda stopped playing halfway because the game was rather easy on normal, and i kept using a guide to max out all the confidants and shit and my ocd to 100% the game burned me out.

I haven't actually played on hard so don't hate me if it's a nightmare. But that's my recommendation if you're already feeling it's too easy. It only gets easier.

I usually go blind on my first run and then use a FAQ, these games are fun that way imo

Earliest you can get it is fusing Matador at level 19. You have to fuse one for the Strength Confidant anyway, so the game practically steers you into breaking itself. Ryuji also learns it at level 32, so now you have two party members spamming an OP skill during random battles and boss fights, what fun!

I played on Hard and it was a good challenge without being brutally unfair. You do have to think your moves through a bit more.

Next playthrough I'll play Merciless

Swift Strike always seemed to miss for me. Like, at least 40% of the time. It was ridiculous. I thought that was the tradeoff for it being so powerful when it does it.

To be fair persona 3s story boss fights were easy and the only real challenge came from floor bosses in tarturus
And persona 4 only real. Challenge was shadow yukiko and shadow Kanji
Once you git past those hurdles the game was easy

Part of the ease of difficulty is that it throws money at you. You can basically always buy the latest gear and all items you may need because you're always swimming in cash.

they just made it so you didnt want to kill yourself from having to grind so much at the start because the bosses and some enemies would simply destroy you effortlessly

Modern Persona games were never challenging outside of maybe optional content to a degree and the MC getting OHKO'd on occasion.
