Poll of the Day > Just watched the Star Wars prequels for the first time.

They were actually good. Surprised people hate(d) them. People always point out the terrible acting of a few of the characters, but it's a George Lucas film. You don't expect great acting from his films because he can't direct actors worth shit. Even in Star Wars (1977) the actors didn't really know what to do and that's one of the best films ever made!

The acting wasn't my main issue with those movies...

They're fun to think about, then you realize they're as long as the dark knight trilogy and you notice ALL the fluff.

by making most of the characters that cross over to the OT seem like total idiots

like obiwan doesnt recognize two very recognizable droids that he knows and makes sure to explain the ways of the force to a farm boy who has never heard of a lightsaber, but doesnt take even a moment to do the same for the experienced rebel agent that he 100% knows is his sister

They are even better if you watch the Clone Wars, it really brings the best parts of the story out

those are extremely minor complaints when compared to how the sequel trilogy has shit on older characters lol

Not to mention that their memories were wiped... for all intents and purposes, they AREN'T the droids he knew.

Obi Wan never met Leia. The only reason Leia knows he exists is through her adoptive father. He appears to Luke because he feels that he's the one to end the reign of the dark side. She was a backup plan in case Luke got killed or turned.

The prequels were nothing more than three 2hr toy advertisements. Lucas admitted as much some time after the third one and also said he really didn't even want to do them at all, that there would never be a final trilogy lmao. What really screwed the pooch was everything from 40 years prior (I-III) looked 1000 years more technologically advanced than IV-VI. The past is supposed to look like the past not the future lmao.

I loved the original trilogy but the rest have been a dumpster fire.
