In the old EU it was 4,000 years before the films. The Tales of the Jedi comics actually had an interesting take on it where there was some crappier technology and shit and everything had this weird Roman/Babylonian futuretech aesthetic. KotOR ditched that and more resembled the prequels. Though as for the state of technology I just always assumed that like when you reach a certain level of advancement you just kinda plateau. --- Not removing this until Mega Man 64 is released on the Wii Virtual Console.
