The fucked up thing is whatever does start to grow back will just burn next year probably. Some of these areas are deserts now they just don't know it yet.

Yeah like apparently normally these forests cycles factor in your standard bush fires and it actually helps them regrow, but with how hot these blazes have been and how long theyve lasted, its quite possible many of it is being burned away completely and will never regrow.

Deserts are not barren, typically, only a few in the world are. Most of southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and west Texas, are all desert, yet full of life and plants.

To my knowledge it was done by indigenous people in the Americas as well.
