A corporation is, at its core, a fictional legal entity that shields those running it from too heavy of a personal loss should its business ventures prove too unprofitable.
Allowing this serves to stimulate the economy, since it frees people to take somewhat more of a risk than they might otherwise. Groovy so far. The problem came when corporations started successfully lobbying (read: bribing politicians) to be given the same rights as actual people. It used to be that when it was found that a corporations actions were against the common good, they could be dissolved even without having necessarily broken any laws. This was useful, since it put a check on the enormous amount of power and lack of real accountability the people who ran them could amass through them.
So now you have these huge conglomerates wielding enormous amounts of wealth, with all the rights and none of the accountability that private citizens have, who are allowed to donate (read: bribe) as much as they want to politicians to keep writing laws in their favor (or writing the laws themselves and getting them rubber stamped by Congress) because theyve made it so that political contributions count as free speech and that free speech applies to them even though they are, as mentioned, legal fictions and not actual people.

The biggest political issue today is getting corporate money the fuck out of politics. There will never be a level playing field between the socioeconomic classes so long as corporations are given the same rights as people.
The mishandling of the crisis that led to the current situation is merely further proof of the dystopia we were already living in.

Its almost like capitalism isn't entirely conducive to a free marketplace.

Anyway, uh, yeah, pretty much. Make your society more about protecting your citizens' health, safety and livelihood, and less/not about protecting shareholders, venture capitalists, landowners and other elite do-nothings, and naturally your society has a shot at treating your citizens better, where before it was capital that was treated well.

This runs counter to the materialistic viewpoint that I enjoy as a patron of the electronic medium

I hate this logic. It's like it tries to avoid any direct blame to any person, real or legal entity, and just pass blame on the system. Not the briber, or bribee, just the system, like people that would do that shit against the spirit of capitalism, won't find a way to screw over socialism too.

you can have good healthcare, healthy people, good unemployment programs and capitalism. Plenty of countries do.

Covid 19 is hitting the US hard because the majority of the population thinks the most important things for the government to focus on is building giant walls, keeping out and locking up migrants, owning guns and banning abortion. Sorry to say it but you reap what you fucking sow.

Exactly

The GameStop and HobbyLobby stuff is pretty much capitalism in a nutshell, petty and deceptive practice even in the face of death to the laborers (the ones creating the real service and product). Capitalism is the biggest killer the world has ever known

Worker control of the means of production would not do anything to address the points you just made. If you believe socialism means "government doing stuff" (it doesn't, but that seems to be what you think), then incorporation is socialism since it's government doing stuff and they wouldn't exist in an anarchist society.

Now if you actually want to talk about the specific government policies you think are good and or bad that's another story, but nothing you talked about had anything to do with capitalism or socialism.
