1 more day, 1 more month or 1 more year?

I imagine it'll keep being a bid deal for about another year. Then it'll up to luck with strains how far peoples immunities and the vaccines work.

Significantly improved testing could also shut down the virus if it gets far enough that you can actually trace infections and lock down the people that get it before they can spread it.

It will never go away because bad things will always happen and never go away. Good things will never happen. If they happen, then it's too good to be true and will be gone right away and replaced with something much worse.

The Ebola virus in Africa never really dissappeared though and now it started to flare up again apparently.

The same thing might as well happen with this Corona virus too.

It won't go away entirely. But, if you are talking about quarantine measurements, I guess until the majority of people in the Western and Eastern World gonna have vaccines.

The recent protests are just more proof that the immediate threat is over and we can fully re-open. Frankly, most states have been closed too long.

The original SARS/Cov-1 came from China in 2002, stuck around for about a year, was of concern for about 8 months, then vanished, hasn't been a case since early 2004. I'm guessing that SARS-2/Cov-2/Covid 19 will be the same.

I was in Japan in March 2004, thought all the people wearing masks was pretty funny.
