In a major surprise move, Marvel Comics has acquired the rights to the Alien and Predator franchises, which were formerly housed at Dark Horse Comics. That means that Marvel will be in charge of creating the next wave of comic book stories based on the Aliens and Predator movie franchises, which will exist in their own continuity and "expand on the characters and settings of the various Alien and Predator movies," IGN reports. Marvel has not announced any official comic titles or creative teams for this new Alien and Predator universe, but we did get some teaser concept artwork from acclaimed artist David Finch: --- b-bb-box https://imgur.com/8D3HM7e - by Proofpyros ... I kinda feel like Alien and Predator will be franchises that'll just get overlooked by Disney. Comic books could be possible I suppose.

They keep remaking the same Alien movie though. this isn't about the movies. this is about comics. Dark Horse Alien vs Predator comics was a big thing in the 90's. the only reason the AvP movies exist is cause of the comics making the concept a fan favorite. ... Copied to Clipboard!

why would they buy it if they don't want to use it? Since they already own the properties through Fox I'd guess this is more about having control over everything they own and just buying out whatever contracts Dark Horse had. I was more referring to Disney as a whole though. Comics are probably the only thing we're going to see of these properties anytime soon. Predator Hunting Grounds I'm assuming slipped through while it was still with Fox? --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

You know, relaunching them under the Marvel banner was something that never even crossed my mind. The two franchises' lore already has roots in comics anyway.
That actually kind of works instead of trying to reboot them as standalone films again. --- ...I think I'm done here... ... Copied to Clipboard!

Well of course they would. Now all of the costumed heroes and super-powered green monsters can shit all over the aliens and predators like they aren't real threats because Hulk is canonically x1100000 times stronger than they are.
