It's a beautiful game and the narrative is incredible so far (no spoilers, I've only just met Elizabeth), but my complaints are mostly gameplay orientated.

First of all, they've really streamlined down the gameplay, not in a good way. Like, in that typical early 2010s way where game makers must have thought gamers were too stupid to do more than press X to win. The vigors and everything are way simpler too.

And why can I only use two weapons at a time? What, realism? Come on. No one wants to have to choose between a shotgun and a machine gun. Give me all the fucking guns man.

pinky, why are you so far behind the curve? You're ALWAYS posting about some game from the 2010s or 2000s, that you're playing for the first time.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to get a Switch, or PS4, or XBone?

Because there are many excellent games and I'm never going to play all of them, but when you can buy the bioshock series for about 5 on a steam sale it's pretty impossible to ignore.

I have a switch also, you've got to get that spreadsheet up to date snupuff

The gunplay is way too much, and the vigors feel really out of place in this game, like they were just added to be similar to the plasmids.

The way the game plays is, you wouldn't think you're in an otherworldly city with regular citizens, just a crazed madhouse where everyone wants to kill you like in rapture.

Also, Bioshock? Why don't you play a decent series?

It does feel a bit odd, yeah. Plasmids made a lot of sense. Vigors seem a bit shoehorned in.

I suppose the cult aspects do make it quite madhousey.

Story: bioshock 1
Exploration: bioshock 1
Gameplay: bioshock 2

Imo the only thing about infinite that I loved was the burail at sea dlc episodes, which were honestly great.

I thought it was playable on currentgen hardware.

Extra credits did an episode why bioshock infinite's gameplay feels off.

There's really no progression or exploration, just shoot shoot shoot.

Which is entirely why burial at sea dlc for infinite was far superior to the actual game. It was much more like the first game.

Gameplay-wise it was definitely better. Which is why it hurts when the story is even more of a mess than the base game and retcons a million things including the very ending of the base game

Yeah I meant gameplay wise. Atmosphere too. Rapture is just a much cooler place honestly. And playing it during the actual collapse was cool.
