I worked in a store that sold mattresses and we had cheap ones available for like ~$300 but they were absolutely dogshit quality and wouldn't last past 6 months probly. Honestly everyone should go into a store and lay on at least 3 to 5 different mattresses for like 5 minutes each before making a decision. Mattresses are insanely expensive given the materials they are made of, but you could just write that off as good business on their part. The bigger issue is that most mattresses use really shitty quality materials that don't last that long. The whole review thing isn't even that big a deal imo, since anyone who spends more than a minute reading that shit will see how obvious it is.
