Is it verifiable that antisemitism and homophobia makes up 1 - 10% of the movement? What qualifies as rampant?
There are Jewish leaders that are part of BLM.

Homophonia has been known to be pretty big among black people for a while now. Long before all of these movements started happening. I have no idea about Anti-Semitism though.

I'm surprised there is anti-Semitism in the black community. In my experience as a black person, most of us just see Jews as white people. Don't bother making a difference.

Are you also referring to the movement specifically or the entire organization.

You're right. The Nation isn't anti-semitic at all. The Powers that be simply apply this false label to attempt to shut then up because they speak 100% truth on Americas atrocious foreign policy and Americas treatment of Black, Brown and Native American people in the USA.

The people in the Nation don't even think about Jews on a regular basis, let alone pose any threat in anyway to Jewish people or the USA in general.

Actually if the USA took it's advice a lot of the issues it gets itself into with Nations overseas wouldn't happen.

Tbh I think that's part of the problem. Assuming flatly that Jews are white people, instead of acknowledging that part of their identity. It also ignores Jews of color.

So, should we go ahead and post the quotes now so that you can try to downplay them, or do you want to do that in like 20 posts or so

He's pretty clearly talking about ethnically Jewish people, not people of the Jewish faith.

How would we know they were Jewish unless they're rocking the stereotypical Jewish outfit? And even then I still see a white guy first instead of a Jewish person. Faith can be a big deal, a small deal, it can change, etc.

I don't really know what the actual history of this is in detail but I would imagine the argument is "christian influence led to a rise in homophobia around the world" and not "black people are incapable of being homophobic."

Yes

Some people being assholes does not mean that everyone of the same race doesn't deserve respect. If that were the case everyone on the planet would deserve nothing but a quick death.

"Run rampant" is also a pretty serious overstatement

Antisemitism and homophobia have nothing to do with BLM. BLM is an explicitly anti-homophobia and anti-transphobic cause, and antisemitism is generally rolled into their anti-bigotry stances. There are always members of informal groups that don't live the values of the group, but to say that discredits the group means that all groups that have ever existed lack validity.

There was a ton of anti-black sentiment in the suffragette movement, tons homophobia and sexism in the black civil rights movement, and there's tons of racism in the LGBT rights movement. All of them were and are still legitimate.

The only thing that effects the validity of the core message of a group is the core message of the group.
