I'm in the same boat. I'm still wanting a refund on it, but it does that scratch an itch that I want. I uninstalled it days ago still, and I'm hoping they pull a No Man's Sky and put out a good product months or a year from now when I have a better gaming PC.

Look, I love the story and soundtrack too, but the AI absolutely needs work. Not to mention the driving mechanics suck, crafting is pointless, most skills are pointless. The actual game side of things is very broken, but the story and vibe is fantastic.

If you put enough points in tech you can create epic and legendary items. Those certainly are not worthless. Even if you don't invest in it, you can still craft ammo and essentially don't have to worry about running out of ammo then.

The pc version IS the best from a technical standpoint. That's not remotely debatable in any single way. At all.

What I'm saying is, the game has, deep issues at its core that have nothing to do with technical performance and everything to do with poor design decisions.

I think I got a better grasp of what you're saying. I didn't watch closely enough to give an opinion on that and can only say that both people I know on ps5 have claimed it's a good game and I've known and respected their opinions for 15+ years. I only side eye'd my cousin playing it as to not pick up big spoilers, while I played something else.

I'll take back my delusional claim until I see more for myself tho.

Not only do they spawn behind you immediately, but even on max wanted level, you can get in a car, drive a block down the road, and lose your wanted level since they won't chase you and won't spawn if you leave the scene of the crime.

I just don't see how that is the case. The open world is designed around the game having no real AI for NPC's.

If it's a bug it's something they specifically worked around for the entire game. Cars don't really have AI so they changed how police work compared to most games and make racing cars rubber band and teleport behind the player for example.

Nothing about it seems broken. Just held together with flimsy tape.

What sort of bullshit is this? If gamers only paid for games that worked then no game would ever be broken. I feared this would just be another shitty overhyped broken game lavished in 9s and 10s and bought up by the masses while they wait for patches and paid DLC no doubt.

But its different this time. Gamers won today. Gamers told these shitty companies were not going to take shitty, shallow games full of broken promises and glitches.

I don't think this is actually the case. Nothing about the open world makes it seem like it would break if the AI was better. Hell, they could essentially completely rebuild the AI from ground up and the open world wouldn't really be effected. They almost seem entirely segmented from eachother which makes it an even worse experience than if the bad AI was actually connected with the open world.

It probably isnt a bug even though they did say it was. But I think they can definitely rework it to function like a proper game and things can fall into place. It would be a lot of work probably but early access games do shit like this all the time and well, this isn't much more than an early access game in the state it's in.

I'm saying that "they deserve to go out of business" is a moronic and immature stance. Every major company has done something shitty. Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, EA, Ubisoft, Sega, Microsoft, Bethesda, Blizzard, Activision, Rockstar, etc. You probably can't even name one thing you hate about this company besides how poorly they handled this game

From what I can think of they would need to completely overhaul the wanted system as well. Including getting police into interiors and roofs without relying on spawn points.

They might need to change up how child NPC's work as well. The game despawns them if you enter the car so you can't run them over but if NPC's have enough agency to drive in a panic that's now gonna be a risk. They would need to add several AI types like NPC's that will fight back if you hit them, ones that flee and a combination. They would need police and civilians to dynamically recognize when other NPC's commit crimes outside of scripted encounters.

It's gonna be a lot of work and I guess I don't really get why this isn't in the game already if it's something they can easily fix. Surely stuff like this would be there for most of its development? Even missions script the vehicles and they will not respond to any outside interference. It goes beyond it being a bug.

Would be great but I honestly wouldn't get my hopes up. Not like CDPR haven't been shady with all of this to begin with. Who knows if the guy making that statement even knows if it's a bug or design choice they made to get the game out.

These are all AI issues that aren't dependent on the state of the open world though. And it wont be easy lol they're gonna have to do a lot of work that's for sure. But even with the wanted system or the teleporting cops both could be fixed without touching anything with the map. At best the NPCs interact with the environment as either simple collisions (trash bags exploding into particles mostly lol) or using a vending machine (or a car as a vending machine lmao). They would just have to add a shit ton more dependents than what they already have.

It's sort of a double edged sword in a way.

Like if they do put in the work and fix the AI then it's like...guys. You clearly released a beta build of this game. There's no denying that. The braindead AI was a placeholder until after release. That's the best case scenario.

Just sucks they were greedy and put themselves into this situation.
