What you should have done is put that gpu money in btc. Then you could buy that gpu at scalper prices in btc while having only spent the same amount in usd. The 900 iq play.

Idk how much of an impact it is, but when Crypto spikes mining operations naturally are more profitable. So PC parts are bought for Crypto rigs, and big farmers will have tons of PCs. New parts are usually good because they are more power efficient on a per calculation, since Crypto mining profits are basically the Crypto value minus part costs and power usage.

wouldnt that be like CPUs and stuff? I have little computer knowledge so Im assuming Graphics Cards are literally just for graphics

people mining bitcoin isnt profitable anymore. unless you have one of those mining "farms" setup next to a power plant like they do on the colombia river

GPUs are actually better suited to the types of calculations in mining. Why? I couldn't tell you.
