I thought I was bad but my 2 friends that I work with were asking me why the GM is nice to me and not them

I'm not the most socially competent person by any means but at least I know refusing to talk to your boss (except when absolutely necessary) will probably lead them to not like you very much

My brewery boss introduces me to other brewers has his friend and brewery assistant.

I typically only socialize with good workers, whether above or below me. I appreciate a good leader and will let them know and I'll more inclined to do more around a hard working associate.
I find too many people socialize to get favors; socializing just makes work better imo.

What's that mean?

I work retail, so I see a lot of lazy workers. They're good for breaks, lunches and excuses and make it harder for everyone else. I have a hard time respecting a person like that.

I dunno I guess just using terms like good workers and good leader rub me the wrong way

Replace with effective then. Most of the less great workers are liars, too. I guess that's why they're so good at making up excuses as to why they don't need to work.
