In fact, it's more likely that you'll need to be adjusting the camera while dodging (and vice versa), so having dodge be closest to the right analog (which it is) is probably ideal. If you're in a position where you need to be moving the camera more than tapping L to center it behind you/on the monster will do, you probably aren't in a safe position to be attacking.
