Lordy do I love them! My mom points out it's always been my weakness and my girlfriend pointed out last night I have finished a pack to myself in a week.

Anyone have a love affair with them?

Beef is so tasty and juicy, but I love them all. It's great how cheap they can be, keyword being cheap. I typically buy bar-s, but will buy nathan's, oscar meyer, and others when they're on sale. Smokies may be my favorite cause I love pork.

If you had to cut back on them, what other meaty snack would you suggest? I almost think boiled eggs or beef jerky. I just love the ease and variety ways of making a hot dog.

I can eat a package of ten over a weekend, and not even a long weekend.

Or the (Calgary) Stampede Style Beef Franks, come in an eight pack costs a bit more then the chicken dogs.

With buns or without, doesn't matter.

Hotdogs are ok, I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with them.

What brand do you eat? I'm curious as you consume them a lot. Do you ever get special sausages for special occasions?

I do like sausage, but as the main consumer, I stick to hot dogs since my girlfriend is more of a fan of those over sausage.
I'm not picky which doesn't help with the health aspect. I should probably stick to higher quality brands or maybe chicken franks. I guess trying to avoid chemicals could help.

The best way I found to make them was from Nathan's. Butter and oil pan fried. More butter than oil. Super unhealthy, but yummy.

I've done a similar method with a couple extra steps.
I'll add water to the bottom of the fry pan, like maybe cover half of the bottom. Let the hot dogs cook in that while it boils off, then I toss in butter to crisp up the outside.
It makes a great hot dog!

Not something I would let effect my hotdog eating decisions XD but you do you.

But Hebrew Nationals are one of favorites, I would say I couldnt chose between that and Nathans but I dont eat enough hotdogs for it to matter since I am picky and will only eat them cooked over a campfire or

They're ok, I love Chicago style best, but they're too much of a hassle to make at home.

My mom says only steak tastes better grilled, which I find weird. Grilled is best for everything (unless you're having a Chicago style hotdog).
