Im not. I personally dont really like the masks or social distance. WFH never affected me much except the office was less noisy when some people worked from home. Kind of boring, though...

There's literally no reason to take wfh away from people who've been productive with it... But in general most companies are going to do it anyway.

Can't have that group continuing to be more productive than the ones who choose to go back to the office... The last year was probably already embarrassing enough for people who thought the office was necessary... So it's got to be stopped by the logic of most managers.

It really depends on the people and the job. Like I know my job (which is an office job) cant technically be done from home. But they still tried for us to do it. And many people didnt do much. I did try, but nothing really happened. And some people can do work from home, but basically didnt do much. But nobody really got in trouble or anything. It could be similar for other places. But many places already knew the office wasnt needed for most people, as places already had ways to work at home already. But its probably easier for other reasons. Like being able to get something quickly, or being able to talk in person. Or keep an eye on people. Or in person training and stuff. Or other reasons...

I forgot my mask today because I cleaned out my car before going anywhere and was very annoyed with myself for it, I already have my first vax shot but I hate not wearing one now.

Masks are still everywhere I go because businesses left signs up despite the rules being rolled back (because the governor's emergency powers ended anyway and he'd still to actually get approval for it if he wanted it to continue)

I went to Walmart yesterday and maybe 5% of the customers were still wearing masks.

If you're supposed to wear a mask if you haven't gotten your shots yet, that means that 95% of the customers have been vaccinated, right?

I dont believe the cdc put that restriction on lifting the masks, but Biden did go out and say you should wear a mask still if youre not vaccinated. Likely a lot of those people arent but if its a concern of yours you should just continue to wear a mask out of your own volition.

Right but Im pretty sure they didnt say you had to be vaccinated to go mask free. At least I think, thats what everyone at my job is saying at least

My company has said that starting in September the office will be open full time again, but we are allowed to choose if we continue to work from home full time, go into the office full time, or do a hybrid. The only restriction is that you have to come into the office for important team meetings to foster collaboration. Our team has already decided to designate Wednesday "Meeting day" and let everyone decide for themselves if they want to come into the office or work from home the other days. Half the team doesn't even live in the same state so I doubt there will be much reason to go to the office the rest of the time except cabin fever.

As for masks and social distancing, lets say I have Thursday marked on my callendar as "throw out my mask" day. (well, my spare masks at least, I'll still keep one in my pocket when I go out if I need it)

I heard otherwise, IIRC. I heard they were saying that if was fine to go mask free only if you were vaccinated... I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what they were saying. They weren't saying everyone could go around without a mask. I believe the CDC is against that. I think they only wanted to let vaccinated people not have to wear a mask... I believe they said you had to be vaccinated to go mask free safely...

Ug, I wish people HAD been social distancing around here. If Im uncomfortable in a place, then they are NOT six feet away. I love this county, but its filled with morons.

I might wear a mask if I go to the movie theater or Walmart. For the most part Ill be happy to not wear one most of the time though

My company said we are all much happier and more productive when working from home but another company we work with (doesnt own us, just a partner kinda sorta no money has exchanged hands or been combined really) doesnt like that we can so we have to stop. Were also not allowed to have our own offices anymore and have to all bunch together in a cramped single room.

Idk I might consider a career change to get wfh again. I can do tech support and take a 50k paycut but also idk if Id like that.

Doesn't bother me too much. As much as the heat and humidity from the mask can bother me at work I do like that I can sing and no one will watch my mouth moving. Outside of work when I have to wear a mask into a store it doesn't really bug me.

As for social distancing. It only really affects my ability to go see my Girlfriend but other then her I don't have anyone else to go see so it doesn't affect me much.

Was not fortunate enough to get to work from home. Have already stopped wearing a mask though and i do not miss it in the slightest.

This is correct. Its only safe to do if you're fully vaccinated.

No masks are to protect others more than yourself has been a big part of the concept of them. Mostly everyone needs to wear a mask for it to not be icky. Like you still have people breathing and spitting when talking and sneezing getting face crap getting over everything when they dont wear a mask. And it muffles people who speak too loud also which is great.

Without any way to prove it people will of course just lie about it. Luckily at my job mask use has been about consistent with the states vax rate.

Masks were great for soft speakers. None of the shouters getting mad at soft speakers anymore because shouters just got mad at the mask.
