He-Man gets zipped away and the show now stars Teela, and people are pissed. Person I don't care about that show like at all. He-man was never my thing. But a lot of people are bringing up old tweets by Kevin Smith (writer) promising that , that would not happen.

The thing that I hate most about this is that Kevin Smith made freaking Clownfish TV right.

They should've just made it a remake with the Black chick being Teela. Instead, we have a sequel which kills Orko, displaces He-Man, and features a Teela with a face that looks like a smacked ass. Whatever.

I won't be watching it.

Most of the people complaining either never watched the original or are only seeing it via revisionist nostalgia. He-Man was never the major focal point in those episodes and continues a central plot point from the original.

See? If you cut the title character out of the title, it doesn't have to be about them anymore.

So He-Man is being written out of most of the show, back in the 80s ?

I own the series on DVD. Prince Adam/He-Man was absolutely the protagonist.

There were individual episodes which focused on characters like Teela or Orko, but let's not pretend He-Man was an in name only protagonist. It was his show.

I'm excited to watch it based off the trailers. If it sucks I'll complain about it then. I was born in the late 80's, so it wasn't the best cartoon I grew up watching. I enjoyed it though. Also "He-Man" is such a weird name. It was like a group of writers had 5 minutes to give the character the most manly name possible and that was the result.

it was a toy line before the cartoon. there was suppose to be companion character named He-Ro but i think it only got as far as the toys. never made it into any of the masters-verse shows.

Anyone who wants to still argue seen the aftershow yet? They literally say "while He-man is powerful this season was about a different Eternian hero, Teela".

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the series, but it is very much about Teela not He-man. His shadow might loom over it, but it's Teela's show.

Adam, yes but He-Man was basically a plot device. That's my point. It's not like he ever had any character arc/growth. That was actually only Teela/Man At Arms/The Sorceress who had an ongoing plot point.

It was an 80's kids cartoon with the main aim of selling toys. Character arc/growth would be right at the bottom of the list of essential ingredients for the show.

This is standard fare. Peter Parker gets more screentime than Spider-Man, Bruce Wayne gets more screentime than Batman, etc. A superhero only exists when there is a problem to be solved. The alias is there anytime but.

Your Spider-Man and Batman examples are wrong, though. In comics and shows, those characters alter-egos don't merely show up to end the threat, as with He-Man. The characters are one in the same, as far as the story/plot is concerned. Also, they also generally get as much time in costume as out, unlike He-Man/Adam.

I don't care what ASJWs/comicsgaters think of the He-man miniseries. I love it. They claim there was a bait and switch but there wasn't. When the show was first annouced we were told it would be about the aftermath of the final battle with Teela looming for the sword of power. People who are claiming they were lied to or tricked simply didn't care enough to look.

It is great, it is fun and I wish Netlix didn't cut the damned ten episode miniseries in half.

This is just a new manufactured complaint from a group who only have manufactured complaints.

That's what ASJWs/comicsgaters do. They create a controversy even if facts exist that quickly prove it wrong. They may not have done the research but they know their audience hasn't and trusts them.

"But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures Eternia, it's up to Teela to solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to prevent the end of the Universe! Her journey will uncover the secrets of Grayskull at last

That's fine. I am not mad about the average person. I am mad about the ASJW YouTube grifters who are relying on misinformation to turn their audience against a show they haven't seen.

I don't expect the average person to know but these content creations claim they do know, claim they have insider information. Those are who I am targeting. Not the average person.

Good thing that's exactly what they did. Even when it was first announced it was called Masters of the Universe: Revelations and never He-man. And even though he's not in it that much he is still the driving force of the series.
