In other news Kazuma mentioned that one of Genshin's apprentices took on the name Karuma based on the word. Fun little nod to the Von Karma lineage.

Aaand I'm already stuck at the first cross examination. Gina said Gregson was supposed to be investigating a smuggling activity at a club called The Grouse. And there are witnesses who say Van Zieks there but not Gregson.

I don't think I have any evidence linked to any of that at the moment. Hmm...

Was there any assassin actually going with Gregson onto the ship?

We know that the trunk has a large gash on its side and blood stains.

So maybe Gregson and this assassin attacked Jigoku but he retaliated and killed Gregson instead? He then hid the body in the ship's freezer before disembarking.

Oh wait, did Jigoku hide Gregson's body in his own trunk?

But I think I'm getting too far...

Is it the murder weapon?

The weapon is a gun given to members of the judiciary. But Gregson has his, and if Van Zieks was in the Grouse club he couldn't have shot Gregson. And Jigoku hasn't been known to have a judiciary gun (though maybe he stole it from Klint).

So Kazuma was the coldblooded genocider who accompanied Gregson to take Jigoku's life, but he got cold feet and left Gregsy alone to die. Geez that's cold.

Also apparently Sholmes already invented cellphones. Of course. And he alongside Mikotoba Sr. are aboard HMS Grouse, which should get a C&D soon from the SS Burya for the design plagiarism (or maybe the other way around). And now we play as Sholmes and his trusty assistant!

He was demanded to send an assassin (Kazuma) in an assassin exchange program in which both assassins can claim diplomatic immunity. Smart.

Aaand now Kazuma says Barok is still the Reaper of the Bailey, who's ultimately responsible for Gregson's death. Great.

And finally, Kazuma wants to reopen the Professor's case.

He actually cornered Gregson and threatened him with Karuma to make him speak. The Inspector admitted that the evidence was fabricated (though he was personally sure Genshin WAS the Professor), but he still didn't tell who the person behind the conspiracy was.

The Asogi papers, which was supposed to be his "last weapon" seemed to disappear from the cell before it was rediscovered by the prison governor.

But now Kazuma confirmed it was indeed his father's brushwork.

Is there some sort of secret message? And that's why the letter disappeared for a little while, as the governor tried to read what it said? If there's a hidden message, put it over a fire and see!

He probably meant through a duel since there were duel injuries on Klint as per the autopsy report.

They could've done many things, including bribing/threatening Enoch instead but at the end of the day, Stronghart preferred killing people and at the end it did feel like he always wanted to kill Genshin in order to find the will.

It'd cause fewer issues to off Genshin, who was supposed to be dead anyway, than off Drebber, who would probably have someone looking for him at some point and cause more issues. Stronghart likes killing, but he's sensible about it. He didn't kill Tusspells when he found out she knew everything. Though yeah, I agree that Stronghart's endgame was to kill Genshin once he led Stronghart to Klint's will.

Yeah, I'm saying he could've did the same thing he did with Tusspells with Drebber; such as by bribing him to keep the night a secret and paying for his education while simultaneously threatening that he'll have him assassinated if he tells the truth. But he aimed for killing Genshin since that would be one less loose end and it gave him power over Jigoku.

Progressed a little on case 9 this week. Hopefully I can clear the trial on sunday.

Case began with some comedy, which actually kind of frustrates me because I was expecting some really bad news. Then Gina's news made me sit right the fuck up.
