Idiot me did not read the title correctly. By chance Thanksgiving in the United States lands on a Thursday this year and more than likely my family and relatives will have our gathering on Saturday or Sunday.

Thanksgiving isn't something we have in England. Still I'm having a few cold ones tonight before the hospital for a EMG in the morning.

Thanksgiving in the US is always on a Thursday (Nov. 25th this year) but I'll celebrate it with family the following Sunday.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving#Debate_about_the_nation's_first_celebrations
The first official Canadian Thanksgiving occurred on April 15, 1872, when the nation was celebrating the Prince of Wales' recovery from a serious illness.
And
Modern Thanksgiving was proclaimed for all states in 1863 by Abraham Lincoln.
Oh yea I'm sure that Canadian Thanksgiving is the "true" Thanksgiving /s.

Well now I feel even more of an idiot but I learned something new in the process. For whatever reason, I always thought it was on the 25th though that could also be me mixing up Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Well no. The whole thing is that the English that left England celebrate it.

I had Thanksgiving dinner last night, and leftovers tonight. I ate so much squash that it was disturbing.

The Real Thanksgive, not that fake US one

Considering the US Thanksgiving is older and Canada just copied ours -- like they've done with everything -- clearly it would be the fake one.
