It'll be equivalent to the HQ crafted weapon that arrives with the savage tier. So whichever one has the better substats will be better.

Wow, the MSQ 83 solo duty... I thought it was really cool, but I did it my first time. I could see if someone had problems completing it they would hate it. And that gotcha QTE at the end, that was soo cruel

Trailers often have spoilers. I'd say becoming a warrior of darkness in Shadowbringers is a spoiler too.

I think that a lot of people get wayyyyy to sensitive about "spoilers", particularly spoilers you have absolutely zero context for. Being WoD is something that happens within the first hour of the MSQ. That would be like complaining that you were "spoiled" because someone told you that you only play as Solid Snake for the first 45 minutes of MGS2

Also, just finished the 84 quest line, really enjoying the MSQ so far. I must say the mid-boss dungeon music fucking shreds. One thing that's made this infinitely more playable is logging in in the morning when the queue is short, setting up a keyboard macro to prevent afk timeout, and then coming back to the game after work and the kids go to bed. I might feel bad about it, if there weren't 500 ERP perverts idling in Limsa on every damn server.

I set up an anti-AFK macro once, the day where it was supposed to be my only full day of play this week.

I do kinda wish they would let you use trust party for this one too, because it totally kills the momentum of the story to have to stop and wait for 15 minutes to finish it out. had the same issue with shadowbringers.

The Trust NPCs are so bad though, would ruin the experience to have to use them for story dungeons. It's probably the least favourite grind from ShB getting all the trust NPCs to 80.

Question though, anyone who didn't get them to 80 in the last expansion, do they have levels < 80 for the EW dungeons?

It takes one dungeon per level for ShB trusts now. Maybe two

IIRC it was 5 runs of each level dungeon to move to the next, so 1-2 runs per level is what it was during ShB

How does level sync work anyway? I assume that like, crappy level 60 gear is the same as the best level 50 gear or the best level 90 gear if you sync down to a level 50 dungeon, for example?

Yeah, it'll scale the stats of the gear you're wearing down to whatever the ilvl of the dungeon is. I believe you lose any materia bonuses as well.

Specifically it puts you at the max ilvl for the dungeon, not the minimum. Which is why dungeons get easier with time, since most people are syncing down to them.

If you ever have not done content when it was current I would recommend trying to find a group to do minimum ilvl at some point. It's pretty wild how different some fights can be just because of the stat differences, especially the 24 mans. Labyrinth of the Ancients and Syrcus Tower actually used to have mechanics, for one.

And while you can still wipe in Weeping City of Mhach if people are bad, there is a reason why it used to be called Wiping City of Mhach in Heavensward.

Syncing does ignore materia (but on the other hand both substats can sync down to the larger substat cap if the unsynced substats are high enough)

I was very disappointed to see that Glasya Labolass mechanics can still be skipped on min ilvl when Asmon ran Syrcus (I guess just due to ability changes). I was curious about how the fight actually went!

Yeah sadly even min ilvl syncing has its limitations because of inherent changes like abilities so you can never truly get the OG experience.

Heck of a lot better than what some games do though where they just ignore that content exists when it isn't relevant anymore.

Aww lame, the way Grubhub has fees broken down only a small fraction of them are actually "delivery fees" that are affected by the promo code. On my order I prepped (probably won't actually go through with it just for an emote) there are $7.89 of fees (not including tip), and only $1.49 of that is a delivery fee.

Wonder if I can get the emote off of a pick-up order...

Botanist/Miner are pretty much the same, and all the crafters are also the same but with different ingredients. Really easy to get hooked on botany/mining in my experience.

Gathering classes are essentially infinite money. Right now every material is selling for at least SOMETHING, and you can just build up stacks of them forever. It's not the most efficient method, but it's the one with no risk and no cost.

Gathering is kind of boring but very, very lucrative for the amount you have to put into it (decently big returns for not a lot of cost), and if you pair it with crafters then you save tons of money on leveling those too.

Crafting is fun in that it is basically a resource management puzzle you have to figure out how to solve with the abilities you have every time you craft, mostly (there are ways to automate easy things and macros for endgame stuff once you meet certain stat requirements). Crafting is what gives you the big bux, but also requires tons of investment of either money (if you buy mats) or time (if you gather mats).

Once you get crafting to higher levels and sell stuff people want you can make like 2000%+ (not a typo) profit off things sometimes if you watch the marketboard and fill a need.

If you're planning on leveling crafting btw I recommend you just do Ishgard restoration, maybe supplement it with some crafting beast tribes. Ishgard restoration is the best though, and you can level gathering at the same time.

Fishing is unique from the other gatherers btw in that while some stuff you catch is useful for crafting (mostly for culinarian mats or desynth) its mostly just kind of its own game. It's kinda boring but appeals to a specific subset of people, more or less just like real fishing. It has some complexity to it with like mooching and such which is kind of fun sometimes though- but again just like real fishing is mostly just sitting around and waiting anyway.

Also fishing is stupid easy to level with Ocean Fishing. Seriously, its so fast.

Had a two hour queue after work only to be followed by an apartment-wide power outage.
