Bleh, both games went against my preferred picks but we eliminated all the bad teams last week so it's okay.

Go Rams. Stafford deserves a reward for retiring Brady and perhaps it is only fitting that we move past this most grievous error in the timeline with the Rams winning the Super Bowl as if the record player stopped scratching and finally started playing where it left off.

I'm good with Burrow or Stafford getting a ring so this Super Bowl cycle is an overall win in my book

I went and looked up, and nope! 80 Raiders, 97 Broncos, 2000 and 2012 Ravens, and 2011 Giants are the 4 seed winners so far, and none of them fought other 4 seeds

In terms of just adding the seeds, it's tied for the lowest seeded Super Bowl with the Steelers/Packers (2 v 6).

The Rams being favored by 4 is kind of a joke, but they're giving them the -3 for "home field".

there is no real home field advantage in the Super Bowl, so I'd be surprised if they're actually factoring that in

also i just realized the raiders could have just done what everyone wanted them to do and avoided facing the eventual afc champions in the first round of the playoffs but had to ruin all our hopes and dreams

The Rams did not deserve to advance. The Niners didn't especially deserve it either, but I think they overall played better than the Rams.

When a play is botched that badly in a game that right, it's usually game-losing.

Like, the ultimate example was in 2007. Patriots were 18-0 and had quite a fewwins in games with plays like that, where the opponent simply botched one play horribly in the 4th and it cost them the game.

Then Asaunte Samuel drops the game winning INT in the Super Bowl and the very next play is the helmet catch, and they found themselves on the end of "one botched play in the 4th quarter" instead.

NFL teams just have a way of punishing other teams for such mistakes.

I'm surprisingly pleased with this superbowl matchup.

Bengals are one of 12 teams that have never won a super bowl. So they get a chance to do so.

Rams have one superbowl victory as a franchise but that was in St. Louis. Never won one while in Los Angeles so that would be a first for their city (and only second time an NFL franchise has won a super bowl in two different cities).

So one way or another, in a couple weeks one city will be celebrating their franchise's super bowl victory for the first time.

Not really. The Bengals have no O-line. The Rams have Aaron Donald. That's not a good combination for the Bengals or Joe Burrow. Can they pull it off? Absolutely. But I can see why they're the underdog here.

The bengals dropped a gimme int in regulation up 3 with a minute left. I think you just remember the misteps.

anyways, Stafford going to to the Super Bowl reminds me what a terribly run franchise the lions are
