I never understood why chao weren't brought back for other Sonic games. SA1 and especially SA2 had so much replay value added with the chao system. It would have been easy to improve upon and would have made newer games much more popular I think.

I loved the Chao system. I invested so much time in raising them. There was just so much variance in how they could end up looking. Definitely a shame that they never expanded on that in future games.

Chaos were the only good part about Sonic.

In the age of ubiquitous smartphones there's really no excuse to still be sleeping on Chao. Sega could have a full-featured Chao Garden in the games and then let us play with them on the go via an app.

Or hell I'd pay 20 bucks for a game that was just a fleshed out Chao simulator.

Instead they thought it wise to go all open world, more DBZ, ride LoZ:TP's coattails, literally sell you a fair number of unfinished games, bank a lot on the anime, and there's no sign from buyers that they should slow down. Hell, the redesign for the movie being such a hit with fans was practically a miracle for them in post-production, I bet. As long as 3 & Adventure fans are still buying the cake, we won't see Sonic enter in as a serious medium again for a long time. Same story with Halo, tbh. What once was championed as evolving all of gaming now exists just to tickle a few bellies. It's memeable.

I keep saying it's the most obvious subject for a gacha game and they're sleeping on it. Obviously I'd prefer a fleshing out of the original system expanded into a full game, but come on guys, give us something more than cameos.
