i don't really care about set mode, but i do care about turning move animations off and you can't do that anymore either

dunno why no one wants to talk about that, it's a much bigger issue than having to press b occasionally.

Okay yeah after playing it for a few hours, is the performance less than it should be? Yes. Is it game breaking like everyone has been saying? lol no. Its not perfect, it should get a patch, but its not constant 5 fps slideshow like Reddit was making it out to be. Other than when opening a menu or crossing a loading seam, the frame rate is smooth.

I don't know what I do different than everyone. I play a game have fun have zero problems and then I see a ton of people commenting "Ugh so many bugs!" and I have no clue what they're talking about.

Yeah I keep reading on reddit how horribly it runs, how buggy it is, this that and the other thing. I played it all afternoon and noticed none of the things people are talking about. Either they're making it up or they're exaggerating.

The game runs like shit and has a ton of technical problems but it's still fun to fuck around with friends

So I did the first gym last night. Okay. Yes. that entire section. The town, the gym challenge, the battle. None of that ran well. As soon as I left the town and started exploring the wilds again, it started being smooth again. I'm starting to see what people are talking about.

I'm in the "Hopefully this sells 30 million copies" so GF keeps on spiralling out of control. The new Pokemon designs look dope (Better than Gen 6/7/8) so that's a big plus. I won't be getting the game because I'm basically done buying games now.

Yeah I'm liking pretty much every new design I've seen so far. And I'm glad I held off on looking at the new designs early, cus I've had several moments where I go somewhere new and I'm like "afafhaoshfa;lsfhl NEW POKEMON!"

7/10 overall, has 9.5/10 moments but 2/10 performance issues. like when its bad its BAD. also as already stated a lot of the design decisions on things that used to be choices that are now mandatory (set, exp share mostly) are kinda baffling, but i'd play with the default settings anyways, it doesn't really detract for me

fuck the pokemon company enforcing a 3-year dev cycle for mainline games so they can peddle merch and the anime, game needed more time. cant they delay a year focusing on legends arceus or something

idk to me, the exp share thing and dexit were never issues. The exp share doesn't make the game "easier" as everyone claims, it makes the grinding less tedious. I always liked the exp share effecting the entire party, I always felt that was a change that needed to be made. Pokemon games really were never difficult. Grinding isn't hard. It's boring. And the cut down dex. It happened in Gen 3. It happened in Gen 5. It wasn't a deal breaker in those games, it wasn't deal breaking in Gen 8 or 9. Now, if they had better utilized the cutting down to make all the animations and updated designs on a higher quality level, I think other people wouldn't have minded either. The lack of Set battle style. I just don't get it. I've personally never used that style, but I get why people like to play like that and I just don't get why it was removed.

But, yes, I know this won't happen. GF really needs more time to make these games. They need more young talent, they maybe even need outside help. If say GF designed the game part of the game, world designs, balancing, all that stuff and some other studio did the visuals and performance, maybe that would make for a better experience, idk. If Gen 10 doesn't come out unitl 2027, but the game fully utilizes the power of whatever hardware it's on, fuck it, I would not mind that. They cannot pull another SV though in terms of technical performance. They seriously need to do better in that regard.

But besides all that, yes I very much am enjoying the game. It is fun. There's just moments, sometimes far too frequently, where I just stop and go "why is the game like this?"

The thing about the Exp. Share toggle is that it was great to have it off for the main game and on for the post game. Chances are I'm not using any of my main game Pokemon for competitive battling so there was never any grinding to be done pre-Champion, I would just catch Pokemon I like and played through while having my levels on par with the opponents' for the most part. Add in Set mode and the games, while still easy, aren't completely brainless snoozefests for the next couple dozen hours. Then in the postgame, I would turn Exp. Share on to level and EV train my team. Overall I think Exp. Share is great but it was the best of both worlds with the toggles for that and Shift/Set

tbh, i felt like the main game was balanced around exp share. one strong focus and then 5 others to complete weaknesses

even with exp share, i didn't feel like any of my mons outside of my starter mattered until like...e4. even now, in my "final" team, i feel like only 3 are worthwhile

edit: but to reiterate, i really felt like this all should have been choices, for set and exp share

I took and look at the evolutions of the starters, the fire becomes fire/ghost. I like that typing

No they can't. Most they could delay is 2-3 weeks and that would blow their November window they have been using forever (before simultaneous releases they released their games in Japan in either September or November). Also it "has" to line up with the anime in Japan. There was no coincidence that the game came out a week after Ash beat Leon.

You have to know the colors. Also if you press R to do the quick battling thing. Your Pokemon will never attack a shiny. They will refuse to quick battle it every time

2 gyms down, 2 titans down, 2 star roads down. So far pretty easy. I love how many new Pokemon there are, and just how often I turn a corner and see something brand new. If only the game didn't feel like it was running on a toaster.

Apparently one of the new Pokmon it doesnt tell you when it evolves, youll just look in your inventory and its different. And it has multiple forms that you cant influence

I'll ask my second question again. Can you get the other starters too?
