Got 50 mythril and pulled on FF11 in hopes of getting Lion dual, got 1/11 Lion glint+. At least it's a Lion relic.

Maintenance would be tonight if it were happening, no announcement, so time to spend my tickets. I have 70 of them. There are 3 fights I haven't beaten yet.

Safer Sephiroth:
I think I can probably get this with what I have, but help is always nice.

Things in the pool that would definitely help: Seph dyad, Barret sync.

Things in the pool that might help a bit/nice to have: Barret realm chain, Barret LBO, Cloud Sync 3, Cloud Awakening 3, Aerith sync, Aerith awakening 1.

Physical Bahamut Zero:
I'm not even sure what's in the pool that would help here. Maybe Leila's CSB+? What I really need is Paine's dual awakening.

Core Dragonking:
The core pool kinda sucks, which is a big reason I put off this fight.

Things in the pool that would definitely help:
Dr Mog sync, Biggs sync and awakening (but only if I get both of them, otherwise he's not an upgrade over Rain.)

Guess maybe I should start with Core since that's the smallest pool and hopefully the easiest to beat.

Last DK down. I did 8 pulls and got Dr. Mog's sync and Bigg's awakening, everything else was a dupe. I got one ticket back for clearing every cardia dungeon so I have 63 now. Of course if I beat the last two crystal dungeons I can use them to try to sub 30 some labs (or Dragonkings... shudder)

@LordoftheMorons I think I've only been saving for about 4 months, maybe 5. They give out a lot of tickets, 4 for every elemental lab boss and 2 for every realm lab boss.

Dr. Mog's HA is insultingly bad, worse damage than Meltdown and Voltech... but I still had to get it because his SBs are such a mess. One awakening is infuse water, his sync is infuse whatever the rest of the party has which is wind and earth... so they don't even work with Voltech.

Sub-30ing most of the DKs isnt too bad once you get the rhythm down; I think most of mine were done with like 5BDL. The one that was really a nightmare for me was FF1, compounded by the fact that I was doing it without wait mode to try and mitigate radiant shield (and of course I havent done XI; my clear was 37.X so Im not too confident about being able to do that even if I gone Prishes AASB).

For labs it really depends. The timing do maze guard is more annoying than of wing wall IMO, and some of the gimmicks make it really annoying (it doesnt help that stuff like orbs add extra ticks).

Hell yeah, Safer Sephiroth beaten. I only did two ticket pulls, got Sephiroth's LBO and decided to try it again. Ended up not needing to use the LBO.

Just physical water Bahamut Zero to go as far as clears. After that, whatever sub 30s I feel like doing. Any suggestions for what ticket banner to pull on for Phy water? Tidus is definite since I have his ATB sync, DASB, dyad, 2 awakenings, and LBO. Elarra and Quina are pretty definite. Then I probably need a chainer and an imperiler. Right now Rikku is doing both but her damage kinda sucks, while Bartz is my last one with sync, awakening, and off-element DASB (triplecasts his HA and I overwrite the infusion). I do have chain/sync/2 awakenings for Paine (no dyad or DASB). And I have sync/awakening/off-element DASB for Leila who can imperil. Not really sure they would be an improvement over Bartz/Rikku though even if I did manage to draw the relics they have in the pool.

Lion has a 5 hit imperil HA and you can lens her awakening, maybe use tickets on FF11 to get her sync and other stuff?

I think Leilas chain would make her a pretty great addition (also her AA1 and poison DA should stack for guaranteed IC quadcasts with her HA I think). Not sure its worth dumping tickets into II just for a small chance at that, though.

I had very frustrating 30.10 and 30.40 clears on the way to this. For the successful run I did something I never do and used Quinas AA2 for the HQC3 before using his sync, which let Quistis quickly get up her DA and SA2 right after chaining at the expense of Leila/Edgar not having crit for a few turns. Before that my chain would run out around 40%, but this let me get Green Dragon all the way down to 10%ish around 23-24s, at which point I didnt even bother rechaining.

So far I've done 20 pulls on the water banner, since it seemed like that had a higher chance of helping me than any individual realm. I improved my magic team a lot but so far I don't think I've gotten what I need for my physical team.

For magic: Strago's dual-element sync and water dyad. This gives him a Sync/Dual combo and he was already my chainer. Meia's ATB sync (I have her Dual), and Arc's sync (I have basically everything except his dual). I might try for a better time, probably with Rydia/Strago/Meia but maybe Arc. Also got Quistis sync and awakening but she probably doesn't make the team (unless she replaces Mog?) and Edge's dyad but I think his days are past.

Physical: Wakka's sync, giving him sync/dual combo, which are basically the strongest thing in the game right now. But he really needs at least one more cap break, ideally his aasb2 since it's an aegis break. Got Rikku's sync 2 but I'm not sure it's better than her sync 1. Also got Yuffie's sync and LBO but I don't really see how she makes the team. Her LBO is only 3 hits which seems bad. Nothing relevant for Leila or Lion or Paine.

Wakka's dual is only dualcast FYI too so it only casts a sync move twice instead of 3 times.

Ah that is annoying. But still, it has a chase that imperils and is an aegis break. His sync is a crit fix so I think I'm going to try him instead of Quina.

Ive actually thought about using Wakka instead of Quina myself for that fight I have three BDL for him (his sync and both awakenings), though Im not sure its worth the lack of QC and entrusting.

Argh, this fight is ridiculous. Lost my chain at the end and Rikku didn't have enough gauge to refresh it for a round and a half. Tidus's limit chain (or Wakka's) would have prevented this.

I couldn't figure out how to fit Paine in after all... Bartz is too much of a beast to take out even with the wrong DASB and dyad, Wakka and Rikku are both filling specific roles... and Tidus is Tidus. The early turns are lined up perfectly so Wakka takes him to 80 with his second attack under DASB and then immediately breaks aegis with the chase. This time Bartz actually got ahead of him because of fast cast so basically wasted a turn, but in the end it didn't matter. I almost want to go for a sub 30 but I don't know how I would cut 5 seconds off this.

Only two potentially usable things here: Aerith's AASB1 and Elena's AASB1 (but I don't think I can make Turks work for the CD when that's her only BDL).

Aerith's AA1 is actually a huge help, but I was already heavily considering buying the Full Throttle draw which would have given me that and Cloud's SASB1, which would also help a ton; it'd feel a lot worse if I paid just for the sync vs both.

Took a few tries to get the kill in the first place, and then several hours more to get the sub-30. Sap+stock was absolutely devouring my time, and about an hour and a half before I got the sub-30 I made a stupid mistake that cost me another one (used Papalymos AOSB like .2s too early, leaving Snow Giant with less than 1% after Vincents dyad finisher). A few tries after that I switched Caits HA for angelsong just to immediately clear sap in every phase.

I got really lucky in the sub-30; I thought I was screwed when Vincent was a sliver shy of the gauge to cast his finisher (even with me using a turn wrathing in maze guard, which he normally didnt have to do), but Terra got a wcast that saved me.

Used the ticket on water since VII was giving me constant dupes

New at least, but I have nothing for Paine so I don't think that's gonna help for BZ. The G+ is on a cute Cactaur doll, though...!

Aw geez I wish I got that Paine dual so I can use that with her sync. I get close to a win on BZ but I can't seem to finish him off before he instant kills me. That dual might seal the deal.

Sucks global is never getting her 6 hit HA either.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about her HA. That might move her ahead of Bartz (especially if I was able to pull her dyad too).

Not much of use, but at this point there's no fights left (although plenty to sub 30, but I'll just do the ones I feel like). 20 tickets left now.

When EoS was announced I didn't think I'd be able to clear all labs (just magic Shiva left now), let alone sub-30 most of them. I should be able to clear them all now though (I'd probably be willing to buy Papa's AASB off of Revelry if I absolutely needed to for the clear just because it would be the last one), but I probably can't sub-30 phys Anima or magic Abductor without more tech. I'm hoping now that I'll be able to clear everything besides phys BZ (don't know if I could do it even if I got Tidus's DA from the VII-XII banner). Sub-30ing any CDs is probably a bridge too far.

There's one other goal I had that I sadly won't be able to finish unless either DeNA surprises me or I light five bucks on fire in the gem shop: getting all characters to 99. Looks like I'm gonna be two MC3s short (assuming two more sets of two from the greens shop), which is probably fewer than I missed by not clearing events at the level that rewards them for the first few weeks I was playing. Otherwise I'm pretty sure I haven't missed any, so the timing sucks for me there.

I tried Salamander yesterday thinking it should be an easy sub 30 after doing Bahamut Zero but it wasn't. It still takes time to get going and then the 5 second invulnerability really makes sub 30 tough. I also tried 1 Dragonking and that fight still sucks. So I probably won't put a lot of effort into improving my times, especially since I'm going to have to do those fights again in JP. I still have 20 tickets though, I'm not really sure what I should spend them on.

Salamander sucked to sub-30 in my experience (especially for magic where youre less likely to be clearing sap immediately)

VII-XII draw: Zidane DASB, Squall AASB3

Cool to get Zidane's DA, but I don't need it for anything... back down to 4 mythril.

I started to make some serious progress on 6* magicite in JP today. Until now I had just done 1, magic Leviathan. Today I did both Ramuhs, Magic Ifrit (my Lunafreya is a beast), and Magic Shiva. I also beat a couple 550 Greg's and Behemoths but failed at dreambreakers today (I've only done one so far I think)

I got Fujin's second awakening on the final record's end ticket! Hopefully I can finally beat CD Ultimecia now.

I also got trolled by getting Stargo's wind dual, I have his water dual already and I won't use him for wind when I got duals for Fujin and Barb already.

I got dyads for Terra and Celes with my ticket... wish there was going to be a chance to use them! If there's no more tickets after this there's not much reason left to keep logging in for me. I'll probably keep doing it out of habit but I'm not sure, since I do have JP now to do.

My final ticket gave me Lightnings holy sync. Wish I had another holy BDL for her (I just just had her other sync and lightning dyad before, and her lensable awakening is also lightning) since phys Anima is probably the lab boss Im least likely to be able to sub-30.

Going through my characters, it looks like Sephiroth is going to end up being the one with the most SBs by a pretty considerable margin:

Didnt expect to ever use Aphmau out of realm, but her USB2 has a 20% holy imperil on entry plus imperil chases every other ability use (plus row QC every ability). I had no other imperils besides Odin and Quina AA2, so that helped a ton despite giving up Elarras critdam.

Impressive! You have a lot more lab sub 30s than I do at this point.

This is actually my second clear the first one was 26.X because I didnt have enough gauge with Barret to counter the second FB. I was thinking of trying the mage team after all after getting Vincents AA2, but man not having QC on Barret sucks. Not sure whether to give him a 500 gauge RM/Ace Striker/TGM (used TGM here).

I also was dumb about my entrusts and ended up with a bunch of excess gauge on Balthier (I lensed Lockes AA1 but not his, and then ended up rechaining with Vincent because Balthier pushed the phase). Guessing I could shave off several more seconds if I really wanted too.

It took me a few hours of attempts, but I finally got it after deciding to use Rinoas wcast witch after all (which I wasnt sure was worth it vs her LM1 since she often wasnt capping). That just leaves magic Kraken and Hell House, both of which Im pretty confident I can do.

Yeah, that would be fun. Vivi is one of my favorites and I had Papa's ATB sync so magic would be good too. Hopefully I'll be able to build a good enough fire team for it in JP.

I wish I had gotten Papas dyad or awakening. I used him with just the sync, usb, and aosb for Snow Giant/Shiva but you could really see the wasted potential for a one BDL Papa with how easily he would cap.

Speaking of wasted potential kinda bummed that I forget to equip my new Garnet dyad for this!

I actually completely screwed up Barret/Seph/Clouds LMs (forgot to change them from whatever they defaulted to) so it could have been faster; hopefully thats a good sign for Safer Sephiroth. Im really unsure of the optimal SB order for this team, though!

Surprisingly my time was less than a second worse (19.00) on my first attempt where I failed to block the second full break with Eikos guardian (which was actually very annoying to do because Zidane does insane damage under his AD+DA+SA+AA2 and the guardian can only do like maybe 5% of his hp; Eiko also got interrupted a tick before using it on two attempts before I finally moved her to slot 2)

This was like 7s faster than my next best DK time (on VII). Not sure how the serious speedrunners get enough gauge when they go a lot faster than this.

My first try actually went much better than expected (got him down to around 30% after getting spacetime down to 22%). I couldnt seem to survive, though, so I honed Aeriths AA1. This run was with pretty much everything going right; I dont think I can beat him unless I either hone Clouds AA1 or buy his sync from Full Throttle.

Congrats. Those are some serious achievements.

And yeah the only reason I was able to go that fast was because Zidane's sync was the IATB3 type. That on a dual/sync combo is just a ridiculous number of hits very fast, and the extra gauge from Quina entrusting, Garnet's G+, and Steiner using OD (plus everyone having HE) gave me just enough to be able to clear souls and for Zidane to use all of his BDL besides his AA1. For runs in other realms (even where I have really stacked teams) I typically haven't been able to go faster than like 27-28s because I always spent 15s in P1 just so everyone has enough gauge for wing wall.

P1 was really slow (on this run I finally gave up on Rinoas BDL G+ since she wasnt actually making use of it and used her ice infusion G+ instead), but in P2 once I actually have Mogs AA2 and all of the good BDL up things went very quickly. In my original clear I think I only dealt like 15% to spacetime because I rechained at the beginning of it; rechaining at the beginning of P2 worked way better.

I did two pulls on bio banner and got pretty good stuff:

I already have Kefka's great sync and his bio awakening so I have most of a team now. But I ran into a problem where I didn't have enough of those magicite shards to buy 4 copies of Ultros. So many random currencies in this game you need to collect. I was low on gil too so I left my phone running autoing 5* magicite when I went to bed. Now I can try this Golem fight and then maybe Argent Odin? I haven't done any yet but I was trying to do at least one version of every 6* magicite yesterday... got them all except Diabolos where I think I need an aegis counter.

Nice bio pulls. Having more chains is also really nice since you arent forced to use Quistis or the RW if you dont have anything for her.

Anyway, I went through with the very questionable decision of buying 500 gems for my last two MC3s (not gonna actually use them until gems are turned off just in case theres a greens shop update along with it making them unlimited; if there is I guess Ill just use the gems on single pulls since nothing else costs less than 700 I think).
