Xi fucked China up. Back in 2008 the official line coming out of China was that it wanted MORE FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY, and INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS... it just wanted them slowly so as not to create a huge shift, and it wanted the advantages of a turn-on-a-dime economy until they built all these skyscrapers or whatever the fuck.

Yea, there was just less and less and less of that until it's 2022.

I have a discord acquaintance who was from. China(left after COVID lockdowns). Most of his family is still there, he says he hasn't heard anything about it from them, but due to how things are over there it could just be them not talking about it, but they also sounded confused when asked.

About all I have to go on from anything I consider a reliable source. Will have to see how things are since that's still just a dude on the Internet.
